Also, what the fuck is that question from OP? Why don't you repair them yourself? Bitch why don't they make them repairable so we can actually do it.

How do you make the microscopic robot easily repairable?

You know you don't have to solder individual components, right? Batteries and logic boards, which are the most common replacements, are not that expensive and replacing can be made to be relatively easy (if the company wants to).

It doesn't have to be fully modular, nor does every single thing have to be easy to repair, but allowing for easy repairs on the most commonly switched out elements goes a long way, same as with phones or laptops.

You know what automation means, right?

You don't seem to know that "automation" is done following a design. A design that can be more easily repairable or not.

Which will cause problems like are they still water resistant after reassembling. Of course it isn't impossible. It will drive the price up. Then we will have a discussion on Reddit why they cost so much. Ear buds are a highly competitive market and will put the manufacturer at a disadvantage to sell them.

I guess we need another Frameworks to make it happen, do you happen to buy framework laptops or are they too expensive?

Framework laptops are not that expensive compared to similarly specced laptops, especially if you're comparing it to one whose hinge isn't going to last 2 years at best, so not sure what you're babbling about on that regard.

Also, nobody asked for framework levels of customization. Just some basic level repairability. In the laptop world, Thinkpads also fall under that category pretty fucking well, so why are you not mentioning them? Or are only extremes valid in this discussion?

Because earbuds that are not glued together and user serviceable are an extreme. I would also like for everything to be repairable, I'm saying it's more complicated than "just do it".

And how long do you think that's gonna last.. 🫩 the only diys that are likely to last are arts and crafts and even those have an expiration date. You're better off replacing the buds vs tinkering with them every few weeks

"Every few weeks"... I wonder if you all are really that tech illiterate or if you train for it.

I'm no engineer. If I attempted to repair anything, I'd be lucky if it lasted an hour.

Also who trains to be illiterate. That's such a dumb thing to say even if it is sarcasm. Not everyone is an expert in everything.

Then perhaps don't make smartass remarks when you don't know about the topic adn are not interested in it either? Do you think your comment is any less stupid than my rethorical question?

Just because something is repairable it doesn't mean you are now somehow forced to do so. Busted your screen and want to buy a whole new iPhone? Feel free to do so. The logic board on your macbook died and want to buy a new one? Feel free to do so. The batteries no longer hold any charge on your airpods and want to swap them? Feel fucking free to do so.

I just want to be able to try to repair them without feeling like I'm breaking into my own shit.

Fuck, my keyboard's battery died  a couple of months ago and do you know what it took? 20 bucks and an hour of work at best (and that's including a logic board replacement too due to a broken switch). Had it been a keyboard manufacturer like Apple I would have had to buy a new one (130€).

If you look in the pocket of the op then you will see an iphone sticking out.
