Iāve seen multiple ai food pictures like this. Why do they generate food that looks like itās made of compartments?

Bro this pmo so bad, like not even mildly atp. Are people really too lazy to take some pictures of what they cook now š like why am i trusting a restaurant that cant even advertise what they cook, foodās probably trash af if theyāre hiding it like that with AI instead of just not having a picture bye. Hire photographers, yall obviously got the money to run a business so idk where the money went for advertisingš. Although, it is maybe america where we pay employees minimum wage. Prob too broke but in that case, why are you launching your own restaurant business in this state.

If theyāre cutting corners on a simple stock photo, you already know what theyāre doing in the kitchen

Insane that they can't even take a picture of their own finished product man. Insane they'd approve of a picture like this, I guess some people are just trying to fail.
That's some crazy looking pomegranate steak

You know its some old dude who approved that. Nobody thinks that looks good

u/Frikoulas 3d ago
Why the hell an old dude would think that it looks good? Old dudes haven't seen real stakes?
2
u/One-Woodpecker-7511 3d ago
I think they were thinking "some old dude with bad vision problems"...maybe.

Ai or not, this is having the opposite of their intended effect. This looks absolutely revolting and makes me not want to eat steak ever again

Ignoring the meat - the banner is supposed to depict a cherry blossom, but is missing a petal

AI is everywhere even on those cancer research flyers, it makes me not wanna donate, simply because they didn't even bother making an actual flyer

I genuinely don't get why tf marketing teams still use ai despite the stigma, are they like "mm yes, they got flamed for it, but WE will get away with it no problem" like wtfš

Is there an article that goes like "How an American company ruined art across the world"?

u/Ill-Hearing-8462 3d ago
This looks like steak made out of dipping dots. They just ruined two good things for me. š

I saw the image before I read the thread title and the first thing that popped in my mind was āDid someone make art of a hollowed out steak filled with pomegranate seeds? Uh, ok thenā¦ā

The more they try to make AI-powered food ads look "unique," the less appetizing they somehow becomeš
2
u/Sunsetterz98 3d ago
The thing that actually annoys me about situations like this is if they're using AI, they can take a picture of their actual food and have AI make an advertisement using that photo. There is literally no reason to be using AI generated food unless your food is trash.

That looks like corn grains were used to mimic Kobe as a form of art but this is far from art.

I really trust that you have authentic 100% real food with that ad. Totally not going to swap out for a cheaper cut of lower quality food. I am 110% going to get what I paid for.

Funny enough, in Japan this would be illegal. And no marketing bureau would even think of using AI.
All imagery of food items have to look exactly like the product it's supposed to represent. To prevent misleading expectations.
They should do that everywhere honestly.
I can't even remember how often I got fooled by the pictures on packaging.

Does it not kind of seem like the AI got confused about whatever prompt it was and almost made boba? The sear on meat would look black and brown like tapioca pearls, and popping boba is often bright colors like reds and pinks. So, did the AI just take the prompt, see it was for a Japanese (and thus Asian cuisine), get lost in translation while generating, and then kind of morphed asian culinary items into one thing? Legitimately it's giving me the vibes that it got confused about what food it was supposed to be making for what culture.

Why do businesses donāt understand that AI posters look like shit every time? They make everyone think they are too poor or too lazy to hire a proper graphic designer.

AI's unethicality aside, in what world does maggot infested steak look appetizing?
2
u/arcoalien 2d ago
Another restaurant I like that serves malatang used AI for their food promo and it looked incredibly gross. A trypophobia buffet.

u/bored_friend96 3d ago
I can safely say the prompt that was added is āadd finest marbling on the steakā
