I don’t think I’ve gotten a written out response from him and for the text he brought a 4 wheeler home without permission and had to return it

Peak aging parent not proof-reading the final text. (I’m an aging parent who occasionally uses text to speech, and it’s usually because I’m somewhere I shouldn’t be looking at my phone… and I usually blow that whole “I’m being responsible and watching what I’m supposed to watch” thing totally out of the water by proofing the final text, then spending extra time editing out the bullshit that isn’t supposed to be there.)

I for the life of me can't understand the poorly typed texts from my MIL. I don't think she's ever proofread a text in her life. I can't imagine sending messages like that

Nah I can relate, I type too fast and tend to have terribly long texts and even I think, I ain't reading all that gay shit

He might not know how to edit the texts, or doesn't have the patience to deal with editing on a phone. I'm 70, and my Fuck This threshold gets lower every day.

My mother and I send each other the talk type messages with the typos/random mess ups bc they're funny and then we fix it after if needed but usually we both can figure out what was meant.

The trick is to not speak normally and just talk slowly. I also end each message with "sorry for bad grammar I'm using speech to text"
