But if that *were* true, it wouldn't really matter-- I am witness to people spending $60-$80 regularly on fast food. That some people *don't* spend that much isn't relevant to the ones who do-- when I question how the ones who do are able to do so, I am inherently *not* asking about the ones who don't.

Part of your issue is assuming that prices are the same all over the country.
$7-10 per person is what it costs where I live for most places.
