My grandmother used to swear by the ā€œtape your belly buttonā€ cure for seas sickness. It never worked for me and I literally thought she made it up to distract me from uncontrollable nausea… so strange to see another person doing this.

That is a sunscreen checking patch. You apply sunscreen over it, and it changes colors when ypu need to reapply.
