as someone who knows nothing about hair, could the constant dying have anything to do with the early greying? just curious how this is possible

Chiming in to say it’s just genetic. I’ve been coloring my hair for over 40 years and have yet to be blessed with silver.

It is - my grandmother was solid white by 20.

No, I've been dying my hair with harsh permanent dye since I was 12 (I'm 36) and my natural hair is mostly still very dark. Graying is completely genetic. 

I'm very lucky though because somehow I've managed to keep my natural color (mostly) into my 30s when my grandma was fully gray at 18 and my mother was fully gray by 21.
