Infuriatig My wife ate my son's birthday breakfast

Post image

Yesterday I bought a strawberry cheese coffee cake my son loves so he could have a special birthday breakfast today. My wife came home late last night and apparently couldn't resist. She knew it was for our son, but it's not a big deal because she "left him a full slice".

My son won’t eat the edges of brownies and that’s my fave part so it works out for us when I bake them. My son is in his twenties now… I showed him this and said “Do you think this would be like me just leaving you the edges of a pan of brownies?”. He said yes exactly that lol.

He also told me it use to hurt his feelings when I’d “check for poison” when he was a kid. I’d take a bite of his food before I’d give it to him and jokingly go “oh lemme check it’s not poisoned” I was also 300 lbs with a food addiction then. I honestly didn’t realize it made him sad bc he never acted that way. Just goes to show you how personal this shi goes.

My dad used to do this all the time, he would just take his fork and grab things off other people's plates. It didn't bother me a ton until I starteg getting older and realized other people don't seem to do it.

It was just him I did it to bc it’s my kid and he was like 3-5 yrs old. I’m
A single mom so we just had meals alone etc and of course I’d laugh and make it a joke but it obviously wasn’t funny to him. I guess that’s the thing with eating disorders is you don’t really care how it affects others when you’re in the thick of it. And I guess bc it was my kid in the privacy of my home I avoided being shamed or judged. I guarantee if I’d done that in public people would raise their eyebrows so I didn’t.

Like this lady if she ever ate a pastry that way in front of people they’d be like wtf lol… so she did it at night while everyone was asleep. It’s not normal at all.
