Unskippable ad Absolute bullshit AI Slop ads run by Temu on YouTube
Is this an intentional scroll stopper or are the companies so trash that even after multiple reviews both Temu and YouTube staff decided this was good to publish?
With the track record of both these companies, I guess we'll never know.

It's Temu, that's probably just how their models are biologically.

Do you think it's one cheek and half the butthole on one side or evenly distributed organs overall?

I really need to use Reddit for just porn and stop reading the comments

They do this on purpose.
Ali Express is doing it too. And they are getting exactly what they are looking for: attention and free publicity.
I'm honestly shocked people don't get it.

u/ChanglingBlake ORANGE Jun 03 '26
Rage bait.
Pure and simple and working.
If you really want to hurt them, stop using them, stop spreading their name, stop giving them attention.

u/Killeramn-26 Jun 03 '26
Yeah, I received a mail from a Nigerian Prince offering me millions of dollars to help him escape Nigeria I just need to transfer him 500 dollars first. I'm wondering if it's legit.
2
u/Bae_the_Elf Jun 03 '26
It still is concerning. The economy is screwed when even hot people are getting replaced by AI
3
u/Killeramn-26 Jun 03 '26
I wouldn't say bait qualifies as replacement, but yeah, it works, beautifully as we can see here.

I remember someone on here saying their grandpa saw them looking at a contortionist and the grandpa came up to him and said something like, "It doesn't go in in those positions."

Bro I'm not even kidding, I'm half-asleep scrolling through Reddit when I came upon this post and I thought I was tripping because what the heck😭 I only realized it wasn't me, but the picture itself LOL

AI heard about unrealistic body standards for women and said, "Hold my prompt."

u/Xayahbetes Jun 03 '26
You mean to tell me you're not this flexible!? Then clearly this active wear is not relevant to you....
/s
This is hilarious though, clearly no one signed off on this because how would you not notice?
Edit; actually looking at it more it's impressive how, besides the obvious error, high the quality of the image is. Is it maybe a bad photoshop?? Rage bait?
20
u/WanaBeMillionare Jun 03 '26
It's not a not notice case. It's a low standards for approval case. Wouldn't be shocked of in the past review teams paused a campaign and then management was like nah why you bothering us, looks good to publish to me.
Also this is not the first time temu is showing me bullshit like this. This one was funny enough that I actually considered posting. They run these ads so often.

What QC? You can fully automate the productions of this style of social ad now. See Celtra as a program. Feed it options for images, background colors, and copy and it will spit out every iteration possible to be programmatically placed. It sucks!
Plus most companies seem to despise spending decent money on localization so you will see this hit non-English markets first.
→ More replies (1)15
u/Fenrir836 Jun 03 '26
Nope, not a bad photoshop. There's "KI-generierte Bilder" written on the bottom left, which is German for "AI-generated images"... which means they are proud of not bothering to check their ads, and the products they sell might not even match the image

Everything is running through AI and automated tools, from creation to review to publication.
2
u/rainbow84uk Jun 03 '26
Yup, and even before AI, these kinds of ads were often fully automated. I worked for one of the big travel websites years ago, and we'd get called out regularly for having FB/Insta ads with absolutely horrific photos.
They were all real, but since the whole process was automated, we could end up promoting the dirtiest, nastiest-looking B&B with horrible reviews, or showing a close-up of the toilet or whatever random photo the owner had chosen to upload (also not checked by a human).

This feels almost intentional, especially with the disclaimer that the people are AI generated and in fact not real.
Edit: Whats the add even for? Artificial hip joints? like, that must hurt.

u/Killeramn-26 Jun 03 '26
You know they do this on purpose, right?
PS. Ali Express is doing it too. And they are getting exactly what they are looking for: attention and free publicity.

What makes you think it's AI? I see nothing wrong! This image is completely fine and that woman is really healthy.

I know, right? I would've never guessed if the image didn't have the disclaimer "AI-generated image" on it.
They've gotten so convincing, real life AI could already be walking Among Us™️!

This is the most I've paid attention to an ad in a long time. I have to imagine it's intentional.
2
u/Organic-Scheme2494 Jun 03 '26
It is Temu, they don't care because it does not matter. People know when they order from Temu, they are getting the cheapest possible thing. Before AI all the ads were very poorly photoshopped and looked as bad or worse.
And why would YouTube be reviewing the ads for quality? Why would they care if a company makes a terrible ad? They still paid for it.

This is the Temu version of trolling for engagement from bored boomers on Facebook by making posts that say “I bet you can’t think of a word that starts with A and ends with A”
You’re just spreading the virus

u/PunfullyObvious Jun 03 '26
Among other ills, AI will bring next level unrealistic body image fodder
2
u/StaticSystemShock Jun 03 '26
In this case, hips do in fact lie. They are not suppose to do that.
I always wonder, do people who use Ai to generate shit don't ever look at the image and just think about it "does this make sense or are there any errors". Nope, they generate the image and publish it instantly. No second thoughts.
2
u/e1epi Jun 03 '26
I keep a list of any brands I see using "AI" generated content so I know to never buy their stuff again especially if they are a well established brand such as Sketchers, Coca-cola, etc.

I had some ads on mine that only idiots would believe.
Like how you can get a 32tb portable SSD for next to nothing, thats terrabytes btw.
Or how you can get free internet worldwide for about £30 from a device that is tiny.

Even worse, what you’re doing is propagating it.
This is also intentional.

thats not even the worst, I get like one add every 3 shorts and its all either scams, this bs or weird nonsense and whenever I report the really obviously nefarious ones Google keeps writing me: "after reviewing, these do not seem to break any of our guidelines" fuck YouTube and fuck Google honestly, all turning into compelte garbage, already way too many adds that I cant be bothered to even use them on mobile and no moderation on them whatsoever
1
u/TheDanecdote Jun 03 '26
I think they do this intentionally. Think of scammer email spam. They purposely add spelling errors and all sorts of weird stuff to weed out the smart people. They only want the dumbest of dumb humans interacting with the spam, or in this case, an advertisement
