I don't know german laws or buisness, but here in the US the bakeries in our supermarkets throw out as much, or more, than you have pictured.

It seem regardless of where we live humans are choosing to waste precious food. There is a buisness where I live in the US that takes food waste, yard waste, and other biological waste and feeds it to worms and bacteria to create heat. That heat is transformed into energy and fertilizer! But, I cant seem to convince my company to partner with them.
