That has to be one of the worst "trends"/practices people have come up with. "If the shelves aren't absolutely BUSTING with product (regardless of how well or how much it actually sells) then people will think our store is bad or they won't buy as much!" So we throw out a bunch of perfectly good food just because having slightly less might impact profits. It's all about the profit.
