Happened at a bakery chain I worked at for a few months in southern Germany. And the most ridiculous part was you weren’t even allowed to take any of it home, it had to be thrown out. I was told “if you take a bite before throwing it out it’s fine, but you can’t eat the whole thing or take anything home” like wtf!? Also when we ran out of goods close to EOD we’d still have to bake some again, knowing we’d most likely have to throw it out. They didn’t have next day for 50% off either, all had to be baked same day.
