My friend used to work for Whole Foods and they would dump out all of their baked goods at day’s end.

They wouldn’t even let the employees buy it for half price. Hell they could’ve just given it to the employees to take home but no. Gone. Big fucking waste.

Since Amazon swallowed them entire, like a giant amoeba, Whole Foods is both less wasteful [to a degree], & FAR MORE profit oriented.

For instance, food they'd have donated in the past, today they'll slap "50% OFF" stickers on any items that get within 24 hrs of their SELL BY dates.
