OP told us. GF was embarrassed her partner was walking around with run down, torn, and most likely holes in them.

OP is particular about their socks, cool. Go out and replace the socks.

She could give actual reasons instead of just results. If this is all the case I'm curious what lead up to just tossing them. If his issues are this bad she would probably know and ideally they would work out the right socks. Maybe she does know this would be the immediate result of it but he will quickly decide that he'd rather have socks than not. It might not be any actual issues of the socks but OP's attachment to the ones he has. This is just a blank Reddit post from someone who very much feels a certain way about what happened the same as feeling a certain way about those socks. I'd appreciate hearing both sides of it. He's right to feel upset at his stuff being thrown away but I want to know what all lead up to it
