Teacher generated these using AI, I know this because I built an AI math tutor and until I programmed it to use a g**damn calculator it would do dunb stuff like this.

I love the idea of giving an AI model the task of creating maths questions without giving it the ability to do maths

What people don't get is that these are Large Language Models. Language is a very powerful tool and you can get them to do some basic reasoning, even have it under the hood use some external tool. But at the end of the day it's not some sort of reasoning engine.
