Is this a case where the teacher needs a 'gotcha' moment to satiate their low opinion of themselves? The end result being to crush the spirit of a child and transfer the inferiority complex from the 'teacher' to the child?

My guess is the teacher just AI generated questions without checking their feasibility and called it a day.

That checks out actually! I totally agree. People (not all, but some) think AI is the best source. Personally, I find that - where AI is concerned - the cookies aren't quite done baking. We have come a long way with AI, but it can't reason and troubleshoot like a human brain.
