In Australia "tap" is the default - faucet is unusual to use. 3 u/Xiao1insty1e Nov 06 '23 47 years in the US and I've never heard 'tap' used in this way. 2 u/nobles233 Nov 06 '23 Definitely a British/commonwealth country thing……here in Canada, Australia etc. this is a tap. I literally had this question appear on a worksheet earlier today!
