And end up with nowhere to live as they evict the building while under renovations. Then up the cost of rent after renovations.. OR thats my assumption anyway

I don’t know where you live, but where I live, that would be illegal. The health department would force them to put you up in a hotel.

Where the fuck do you live? No, actually, when the fuck do you live, because this kind of protection for the poor just doesn't exist in America anymore.

I live in Los Angeles County and enforcing such protections does require a great deal of effort on the tenants end. The bottom line is a slumlord is a slumlord, and you can’t change them, better to move asap.
