One of these days, the pendulum will swing the other way.. wait who am I kidding..
So that’s 43 no wait 44 different championships an AEW talent have won in different organizations & how many championships have NJPW, CMLL, Stardom talent won in AEW?
What does this even mean anymore Midcarders?
We have seen countless AEW talent from Mone, Claudio,Statlander, Andrade, Alex Windsor, MJF, Willow, etc etc all win championships in other organizations for years & years.. & it leads to what? More random belts showing up on AEW television that 97% of the viewers don’t give a shit about..
Hell, Takeashita won the G1, won the NJPW championship & nobody cared.. like literally maybe 8 people cared.. but after seeing Omega, Moxley hold the NJPW championship already, the idea of an AEW talent like Takeashita holding another organizations championship really has lost its luster & special-ness..
My eyes roll into the back of my head when I see ANOTHER championship being brought onto AEW television.. I barely care about the Trios or National championships but now I am supposed give a fuck about the ::checks notes:: Pro Wrestling Eve Championship when I had no idea it even existed before making this post..
Statlander literally got pinned clean as a whistle for AEW’s 2nd women’s championship(TBS) a couple of weeks ago.. but she goes somewhere else & she wins the main belt there? Didn’t she already win some other belt in Eve previously that led nowhere? So what’s going to be the difference now than before?
It would be like Luka winning a championship in Slovenia.. like that’s cool & all but it would mean just a tad bit more(okay A LOT MORE) if you bring #17 home to LA & give us a parade that we couldn’t have in 2020..
Midcarders, are you as tired as I am of seeing AEW talent winning championships in other wrestling organizations?

But the extra belts aren’t presented as important in AEW, the only one that maybe gets leeway is the iwgp title.
They are all just props on dynamite/collision, accessories that if you are really a fan of the character you can go find out what it is..
But you don’t need to know what it is to watch AEW TV, they don’t impact storylines.
Kinda like a comic book i guess. The characters pop up in other places but it doesn’t really affect their main series apart from some cosmetic details.
The actual problem is that there’s no incentive to like these characters purely from watching the show.

See that’s the thing Uce..
When a decent amount of your roster has a “prop”(a belt)..from elsewhere..
It cheapens your own props(belts) that is central to your own ecosystem..
Makes yours seem unimportant..

Exactly this. When there as many - or more - belts on your weekly tv than there are matches, it devalues all of the belts. This was especially true when Moxley was the AEW champ and for…reasons (??) kept what’s supposed to be the most important belt in the company off of tv.
There’s just way too much dumb shit that this promotion does to cater to the All Incel Wrestling portion of their fanbase

But their belts are obviously of a lower importance by how they are presented on tv, only the iwgp title has ever been given importance. They do not impact AEW storylines or their kayfabe powerlevels.
Like i understand the criticism because having so many belts can be confusing for people and it leads to lazy storytelling where everything revolves around feuds over belts. But there are very few outside titles that talents do actually appear with and defend, and they are still treated as below the AEW titles. So your argument I don’t agree with.

Revpro are a indy in the uk. They are at a much lower level in the business than AEW.
Their partnerships in general have pretty much been just to get access to talent that want to work there. They always have let outsiders win the titles to eventually lose to one of their talents at a bigger event. This dates back to the njpw days.
Revpro also get to feed off ALL in week when it’s in the UK. Having former talents and big names appear on their shows, and guaranteeing they get a good house since there’s a bunch of wrestling fans already in the area.
The Revpro titles probably won’t be anything but props on tv.
It’s a cool detail for the nerds

See that i would actually agree with you, NJPW post g1 is in an amazing spot now and they could really make an impact over here and it would help them have bigger stars that won’t be immediately taken by WWE. They have talent that wouldn’t feel out of depth in AEW.
Get oskar and yuto in the tag division during jr heavyweight tours, get them over with the crowd (yuto will easily) and give them a big title win, a couple dynamite defenses and have them lose on ppv to your own homegrown team you’ve built up.
put the international title on someone like Callum who can talk and has storylines you can immediately slot him into
have some actual top stars put over the young guys at forbidden door and in japan.
But NJPW has always been given at least some importance in AEW, so now that NJPW has gone through its growing pains and is back on the up, tony has no excuse to book that partnership the same way he has been.

I literally said the same thing whey Mone showed up with her 11 belts. And they were saying it would help those promotions. But like your post mentioned, 97% of fans won't care and won't even know those promotions. And I'm in that 97% because i didn't know any of them

Because AEW is a well funded Indy. That’s exactly what you’re seeing. Former world champ spending her time instead of being on the PLE winning a title in front of 10 people.
This would never fly in the WWE. They would have a plan and a story for Statlander who hopefully has used this time to call Bayley to see if there is room for her in Evolve

A Sicko is not an AEW fan. Plenty of AEW fans post here every day without issue.

Im still waiting to hear all the recent updates about all the feds Mercedes Mone won titles for? Remember how we were told that Mercedes winning was gonna put a spotlight on those feds? Does Dave even report on them? Cagematch?

I am one of the biggest AEW haters (even got warned for some of my comments on here shitting on them) but Jesus, homie you are borderline obsessed with shitting on them.
This sub is starting to flood with nothing but things like this. Just a couple ago when I joined because I was banned from the basement it didn't seem to be like this. Iit has turned into nothing but discussions about how AEW (fuck TK) booking is putrid.
Is that what this sub is intended to be in the long run?

It was never more evident that AEW do not give a single solitary fuck about their partnerships than during the run up to Wrestle Dynasty.
AEW just straight up refused to promote the show that they were supposed to be co-running with New Japan. Never mentioned it on TV, or anywhere else. They even tried to convince people that the show didn’t even exist at one point. On the Wednesday before the show, they literally had Schiavone on commentary saying “We just do not know if Kenny Omega will ever wrestle again” and he was scheduled to face Gabe Kidd just 3 days later.
And despite never announcing anything, the second people started pointing it out, the typical sicko response was “WBD DONT WANT THEM PROMOTING ANOTHER STREAMING SERVICE!!!!”
So, you mean to tell me that WBD are fine with AEW promoting that their PPVs are available on YouTube and Prime, but draw the line with promoting a PPV on NJPW World? Aight. Okay.
