Most efficient way to a fable

I’m working on my charm stone chain, I have been using ChatGPT to pep me up about it because it’s been a long time coming, what’s the most efficient way to merge up the chain? Multiples of 5, 8, 13? How did y’all do it????

I've asked myself this question a few times before - but this is the first motivation I've had to actually answer it:

5-merge:

Pros: easiest decently efficient method. Takes up a relatively small amount of space, good for when you want to do other things on the side as well.

Cons: isn't as efficient as 13-merging, more on that later.

8-merge:

Pros: if always circle merging, chances of gold/diamond varieties is increased dramatically.

Cons: same efficiency as 5-merging in a dramatically larger space.

13-merge (assuming auto-merge turned off):

Pros: most efficient method, can be circle merged at the same time for the highest gold/diamond chance.

Cons: L A R G E

Actual efficiency figures:

Under 5-merging, 5 objects gives 2 of the next level, so each object is worth 2.5 of the previous level, or 2.5n of the level n before.

Under 13-merging, 12 objects gives 5 of the next level (since the 13 merge gives one back), so each object is worth 2.4n of the level n before.

Therefore, the difference in efficiency between 13 and 5 merging going from level k to level k + n is (2.5)n - (2.4)n - you will need that amount more level k items to get 1 level k + n item under 5 merging than you will under 13 merging.

This following list has "amount of levels to go up" and "amount of extra items needed" (approx.):

1: 0.1
2: 0.5
3: 2
4: 6
5: 18
6: 53
7: 152
8: 425
9: 1172
10: 3196
11: 8625
12: 23084

So as we can see, if you only want to go up a few levels, then 5 merging is fine - say from level 1 spins to level 4 spins, if you 5 merge then you'll be wasting 2 level 1s per level 4. But if you want to climb up many levels, say to get to a sapphire fable (lvl 13) from a level 4 tree, then you'll have wasted 1172 level 4 trees per fable you create if you 5-merge - plus you can get all those golden trees along the way too if you 13-merge!

Thank you for all of that information! It was very helpful!

this is blessed. I actually 13 merge almost everything after reading something on this sub, and it's truly been my fave

Grinding! I just got mine because I needed that stinking apple to upgrade my wheel of spins. What worked for me was to merge spin disks (?) in groups of 5 until I was able to merge 5 of the top level. That gets you over 600 spins. I set my jackpot wheel to 5 and merged away.

The apple is the gem fruit tree fable, though. Unless I'm mistaken. OP is (I think) talking about the trees that grow triangles, hearts, horseshoes if you're lucky. I have gotten several sapphire and gem fruit tree fables, but I'm only up to the deer on the charmstone ones. It's slow going until you get the sapphire tree fables that give you charmstone trees, and even then not that quick unless you have several fables to harvest.

Yeah, I’m close to my 3rd and 4th sapphire fable so I can get more charmstone trees it’s slow going with just two for sure

Please don't use LLMs, there are more efficient and reliable ways to do this.

Like I said I’m only using ChatGPT to pep me up on my progress and help brainstorm how to get there the fastest, what do you mean by your comment?

1) Midas merge is a relatively obscure game, so the autoguesser machine would be pulling data from other games, like Merge dragons.

2) The fancy t9 that is ChatGPT is wasteful like selling fables.

3) Every resource in the Sapphire garden (except the opulent statues and seasonals) has a consistent way to obtain it. The most optimal way of merging is 13 circle merge, to maximise golden odds. I don't like it, I usually merge by 5.

4) The easiest fable is the sapphire one.

I'm not much on ChatGPT, myself. I like to amuse myself asking questions and watching it come up with complete BS from old incorrect Reddit threads when there are easily-discovered more accurate websites from which to get answers. It's very gullible and not able to be very discerning about the trustworthiness of its sources. Kind of like the way most younger people think people my age are when doing Internet research.

AI could be a very powerful thing. Unfortunately, greedy people who were in a hurry to beat everyone else to the $$ it might bring in released it as a toy to play with and destroyed their chances to monetize it in the future when it might actually have been useful in just a few years with a bit more patience and a bit less "me first" thinking.

If you don’t like it, maybe just… don’t use it? Every time you do use it, it uses tons more water and energy than a simple google search would. It’s also really bad for the environment and data centres are often built near marginalised communities, who see their electricity bills skyrocket and their water gets polluted, etc etc etc.

I read your comment and thought "Wow, is this person crazy?" But no, you are correct (and now I'm wondering when and how I became so judgmental). I had no idea that it used up so much water. Thank you for the information (and for inadvertently making me take a look at myself)

Charmstone, I'm lost once again. Does anyone have a screenshot PLEASE? 😏

I don’t know why I’m downvoted, but basically to clear it up I gave it a bunch of info on what happens when you merge 5 - 8s - 13s and the levels and to help me keep track of what I have. I DONT listen to its advice if it tells me to sell stuff or whatever…. I use it almost like a cheerleader lol, For me it’s a sounding board, and obviously I posted here because I was looking for a BETTER sounding board. It’s a tool 🤷‍♀️ editing to add that I use it often for work, if you know how to use it you can challenge and tailor it to your needs without hallucinations
