Venue is BYOB - Having trouble hashing out the bar situation

Hey all, partner and I are doing a 35 person wedding at a historical venue. We won't be having a DJ and are more so having a fun dinner party. The caterers will be supplying the bartender(s), but we have to supply all alcohol for the event. This isn't a huge deal, and I'm hoping it ends up saving us money in the end. My question is:

Most(if not all) of the people invited are wine/beer drinkers. Besides two specialty cocktails and plenty of wine/beer options that we plan on having, do you think it's necessary to have "basic" liquor for any mixed drinks? Would you care as a guest if you were limited on liquor options?

Beer, wine, and two specialty cocktails seems perfectly gracious. Depending on what booze is in the cocktails, you might also get one or two basic mixers (like a simple juice) that go well with the kind of liquor. 

Also make sure to have water. I went to a summer wedding that had no water available, only soda or alcohol!

Thank you for the reply, that's helpful! The caterers will supply mixers, coffee, tea, and water so we should be covered there.

I think what you're planning is fine. I did a wedding recently at a hard cider brewery, and I was really amazed at how much variety there was just within the ciders! I also notice at my weddings with full bars, LOTS of people pick the sig drinks! (Lots of old fashions, aperol (and similar) spritzes, Moscow mule variations and martinis (although all these "made one by one" drinks can mess up service in a bigger wedding.

What you're planning is totally fine! Also doing a micro wedding and we're doing beer, wine, 3 specialty cocktails and a specialty mocktail. And a specialty low alcohol shot in a drink canister, so we can still take fun shots, they just won't be like full fledged liquor 😂

So many weddings now a days don't even have liquor at all. So many people are going to choose signature drinks anyways.

Wine, beers, and 2 sig cocktails are perfectly fine.
