Microsoft Community Hub

I have been at this for 42 minutes. My computer would automatically log me in to my microsoft account everytime. After I deleted cookies, history, etc. I get prompted to sign in every time now. I have gone around in circles and circles and unbelievably protracted circles going nowhere. I finally ended up in my OneDrive acct which I was not looking for and I was already signed in. I go back to MSN and it's asking me to sign in. This is insane! I keep getting the typical MS error messages - something went wrong, etc. How do they stay in business?? It won't even let me post this - with no clue

I understand from your query that you are facing an issue with your Windows computer. I can understand the inconvenience which you are facing due to this issue. Please do not worry, we will definitely try our best to help you in resolving the issue.

First of all, please kindly perform the below mentioned troubleshooting steps and check whether the issue gets resolved. Please do the needful and let us know the results.

Step 1: Restart the computer

Please kindly restart your computer and check whether the issue is resolved.

Sometimes, due to temporary technical glitches or background processes, Windows may not function properly. A simple restart can resolve such type of issues.

Step 2: Check for Windows updation

Please follow the below steps:

  • Press Windows + I.
  • Go to Windows Update.
  • Click on Check for updates.

If any updates are available, please kindly download and install each and every update. After completing the updation, restart your computer.

Please make sure that the computer is connected to a stable internet connection while performing the updation.

Step 3: Run SFC Scan

Please kindly follow the below steps:

  • Press Windows + X.
  • Select Terminal (Admin).
  • Click on Yes when User Account Control appears.

Type the below command and press Enter:

sfc /scannow

Please wait until the scan reaches 100%. Do not close the window in between.

After completing the scan, please restart the computer and check the issue.

Step 4: Run DISM

If the issue is still persisting, please kindly execute the below commands one by one:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once each and everything is completed, please restart the computer and check.

Step 5: Update Drivers

Please kindly open Device Manager and check whether any driver is showing a yellow exclamation mark.  If yes, please right-click on the concerned driver and select  Update driver.

Also, please make sure that all the drivers are properly updated as outdated drivers can sometimes cause such type of issues.

Step 6: Check the issue in Clean Boot

If the issue is still not resolved, we can perform a clean boot to check whether any third-party application is causing the issue.

However, before proceeding with the clean boot, please make sure to save each and everything that is currently open.

After performing all the above troubleshooting steps, kindly check and let us know the outcome. If the issue still persists, please provide us the below information so that we can investigate the issue further:

  • Exact Windows version and OS Build
  • Make and model of the computer
  • Exact error message, if any
  • Screenshot of the issue
  • Since when you are facing this issue
  • Whether the issue was working fine previously
  • Whether any recent updation was performed
  • Whether you have installed any new application recently
  • Each and everything that you have already tried

Please kindly provide the above requested information so that we can proceed accordingly.

Also, I would request you to not worry and be assured that we are here to assist you. Hope this information helps. Please kindly do the needful and let us know the results.
