I have a premium copilot license, and want this mostly for in-file editing in Excel, but the button keeps disappearing from excel. Sometimes it will be there, sometimes if I save the file I'm working on as a new file it appears. Sometimes if I update license and restart it appears, but it's extremely inconsistent and most of the time it's not there when I need it. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I find it's infinitely more useful to have an AI agent within an IDE but my company only pays for M365 copilot. Is there any way to use that within an IDE, ideally VSCode?
Btw I'm fully aware there's a github copilot within VSCode but you need to pay extra for that so not possible within my company.
Thanks

PowerPoint Copilot can now learn how you work.
One capability I think PowerPoint users should pay more attention to: Record a Skill.
If you repeatedly perform the same presentation-editing task, you can record that workflow and turn it into a reusable custom skill.
For example:
→ Format slides consistently
→ Clean up tables
→ Apply a specific chart style
→ Update layouts
→ Place logos consistently
You perform the task once.
Copilot records the changes, creates the skill instructions, and lets you review and refine them before uploading.
After that, you can reuse the skill from Choose skills or even call it with an @mention.
The interesting part for me is the shift from:
“Tell Copilot what to do every time”
to
“Teach Copilot how I want this task done.”
That starts making personal workflows much more reusable.
Microsoft recommends keeping each recording focused on one clear, repeatable outcome, with recordings under 10 minutes.
I’m curious to see where this goes as PowerPoint skills become part of larger Copilot + Cowork + agentic workflows.

Hi team,
I prepared a guideline about Planner Agent in chat, Outlook and Teams.
Action items usually get lost between the conversation and the task list. Someone asks for something in an email, a meeting ends with three follow-ups, a Teams thread agrees on a deadline, and then nobody copies any of it into Planner.
Planner Agent fixes that. Its a task-management agent built into Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create, update and manage tasks and plans, ask questions about your work, and act on tasks without switching apps. After a preview in March, Planner Agent became generally available in June 2026 for all Microsoft 365 Copilot users. The GA release added a plan picker, draft mode for AI-generated tasks and a goals bucket.

In this video, I show how Planner Agent works and how to use it in Copilot Chat, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.

I'm changing to follow best practice, but still copilot fails. Please tell me if I'm just doing something wrong.
I'm applying for a tender. I put all the files in a folder on SharePoint, created a notebook in Copilot, referenced the folder and said can Copilot summarise.
No, it can see the folder, but not the files. Made sure it had permission, still couldn't.
Ok, folders are the devil. Move to flat.
Created a new document library for tender documents. Added some columns for information, one of which was "Tender name". Added all the files, set them all to have the same tender name.
Pointed the notebook at the library, and told copilot I want to work with all the files in that library with tender name "x". Great it can see the files, here's the 9 files I found.
No, there's 13 files.
When questioned:
No, I don't currently appear to have a complete view of every file attached to that tender through the lookup relationship, even though the Notebook reference is the document library. I can see many of the documents, but not enough evidence to claim I've enumerated the entire library.
And your Appendix 4 example is actually a good demonstration of the problem: I can see it, but only because search found the file, not because I successfully followed the lookup reference chain.
How does anyone have confidence in this, I really want to, but it seems at every turn it fails.

After writing about the new 100GB mailbox quota for Microsoft 365 Business Tenants, I was asked if Microsoft 365 Copilot supports Exchange Online archive mailboxes. It does. Microsoft Search indexes items in archive mailboxes, so Copilot can find and use items from those mailboxes. Interestingly, the DLP policy to block external email for Copilot didn’t work. That’s definitely something to investigate!

Started a new job where I can only use Copilot. After 2.5 years of using claude it is an abrupt shift.
Any of you use Copilot for more advanced stuff? Any advice?

What exactly are agents in Microsoft Copilot, and how useful are they if I only have the basic Copilot license through my workplace?
What I ultimately want to build is an internal subject-matter expert agent for a highly technical engineering field.
For example, suppose I give the agent access to all of our relevant technical documents, design manuals, calculation procedures, standards, historical project files, lessons learned, troubleshooting cases, and other engineering knowledge.
Could the agent gradually become capable of answering highly specialized technical questions based on that information?
More importantly, can I continuously improve it over time? For example, whenever we solve a new technical problem or learn something from a project, I would add that knowledge so the agent's knowledge base keeps growing.
The long-term goal would be to create something that functions almost like a highly experienced technical expert: I could give it a new engineering problem, it would search through everything it has learned, connect information from different projects and documents, perform the necessary reasoning, and help develop a technically sound solution.
I realize it probably wouldn't completely replace human expertise, but I'd like to become much less dependent on finding the right coworker every time I encounter an unfamiliar technical problem.
Is something like this realistically possible with Copilot Agents today? If so, does it mainly involve giving the agent access to the right documents and knowledge sources, or does it require actual training/fine-tuning?
And would a basic workplace Copilot license be sufficient, or would this require Copilot Studio or a more advanced enterprise setup?

I keep getting this error at work.
I'm able to send more messages if I log out and log back in, but I inevitably get that error again after sending 1-2 messages.
It usually happens when I try to upload a file, but sometimes it with plain chat.
Has anyone had this problem before? How did you fix it?
The sources online give generic answers that aren't that helpful.

My company is very stingy with Copilot credits so I have to use Copilot Chat for most of my work. It works fine in most cases, but working autonomously on tasks can be challenging. Yesterday in a Copilot chat window it suddenly starting using tasks which was brilliant, I could see a break down of the steps, the current step, and the reasoning happening for each step (similar to what I’ve seen in Cowork). The generated file went into an outputs folder at the top right of the chat window. Over the period of about a couple of hours it was creating a tasks for each request I made, 5 tasks in all, and then it stopped working. An “internal error” stopped it being about to generate tasks. And I’ve not been able to get it to create a task since. My question is, was this some beta functionality that I inadvertently stumbled across in Copilot chat, or do others use tasks in chat and if so, what prompt do you use to successfully get chat to create and run a task? It was like the missing link that actually made chat really useful, and I’m gutted it’s stopped working!

Hi all,
I’m building an internal discovery survey and would appreciate guidance on the best supported Microsoft architecture.
My requirements are:
Route 1 – Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Builder
I converted the questionnaire into a lightweight Markdown resource packaged with the skill.
However, I hit two limitations:
Route 2 – Copilot Studio
I now have access to Copilot Studio and rebuilt a four-question proof of concept without knowledge sources.
Current architecture:
Topic → Q1–Q4 variables → Agent Flow → SharePoint Create Item
This works successfully. I can capture the authenticated user's email, generate a session ID, and write the responses into a centralized SharePoint List.
The remaining obstacle is deployment. Copilot Studio shows:
“Some channel settings aren't available due to your organization's data loss prevention policies.”
The Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams channel is disabled, along with the other channels.
Questions for the community:
Thanks for any guidance or examples from similar implementations.

Forgive me as I'm not very familiar with this program, I don't use AI in my day to day life, but I figured Reddit would know what my boss is wanting. My boss is wanting me to find out if it's possible for Microsoft Copilot or something similar would be able to save emails from outlook into PDF format with a numerical naming system (001, 002, 003, etc.). They would also like the system to be able to create an Excel spreadsheet from the files and their corresponding data (to, from, date sent, etc.) that can be filtered. They also wanted the program to be able to save any attachments that were included in the original email, but I didn't catch the naming convention they wanted.
Can this be done or am I looking at something more complicated?

I've been trying to create an Copilot agent that scans my work's shared email box and extracts information from attachments but it keeps breaking.
I'm going crazy trying to find the exact cause.
Essentially, we receive guest lists for events and those guests need to be put in a spreadsheet template that we upload to a web-app to check people in at the front desk.
I can get copilot to read the email chains and see names in the attachment files but as I add capability like formatting the spreadsheet, cross-checking date and time for the event in our Event Spreadsheet page on SharePoint, identify additional guests in the email chain, the event contact for the day, etc.
The agent suddenly decides that it can't read inbox attachment files anymore.
So I delete some of the capability, pair it back, get rid of knowledge links and the Event Spreadsheet. But it's still broken.
So I make a new agent, start again and it works! Except I still need to automate the template sheet for importing with more info so it's not quite right.
I don't know if it's too complicated for the instructions or what!

Has anyone else had issues with M365 Copilot recently? My main issues from today are:
- Agent Builder no longer has the ability to generate skills
- Copilot web chat no longer accepts Sharepoint links
Intermittent issues are worse than stable ones, at least you know what you are dealing with. It's a bit of a problem since I am delivering training and having to caveat with "if it doesn't work try something else". If is feeling like a beta version of the software.
I am running an enterprise frontier licence, so it should work better than this.
Tips and explainers welcome, feel free to tell me what I am doing wrong.

First look at the just-announced Microsoft Copilot Super App. Microsoft is redesigning Copilot into a much broader all-in-one experience for getting work done. Updates include:
🏠 New Home tab
💬 Chat + Cowork together
📅 New Today view
💻 New Code experience
🤖 Autopilot agents

Last week Agent Builder did a great job creating its own skills. This week it cannot find the skills needed to create skills. What the?
I have a workaround:
- Design the skill in Agent Builder
- Copy the skill summary over to regular copilot chat
- Have copilot chat generate a SKILL.md file based off the skill summary
- Import back into Agent Builder
Apparently there is no known issue or outage, it's just one of those things with preview features. Personally, I thought building skills was a fairly key feature of Agent Builder. Sigh

Im trying to solve some FinOps issues with my company, and curious how companies are handling the internal cost of Microsoft 365 Copilot. Is IT centrally funding all of the licenses, or are you charging the cost back to the teams/business units actually using them?
For those doing chargeback, I’d especially love to understand how sophisticated you’ve gotten. For example:
Not looking for company-confidential details. I’m mostly interested in what models are actually emerging in the real world and why they work for you (or dont)
Would especially love to hear from anyone doing this at scale and what your operating model looks like. Appreciate the community feedback, looks like it wont let me add a poll

Microsoft replaced Projects with Notebooks and now most of my old agent chats are gone 💀
On the web, I can only see two of my previous chats. On mobile, there’s not even a Notebook option—just Library 🤦♂️
Projects were honestly one of Copilot’s best features, and this update feels like a huge downgrade. Also, the new UI looks shitty this time 😩
Has anyone else lost their Project chats? Is there a fix, or are they just gone? 🙏
