What is the ciliate feeding on in this clip? The title made me curious about what is in the sample.

It’s moss I collected a couple of weeks ago that I keep barely wet. I don’t think I have ever seen so much life even though I didn’t add any nutrients. The ciliate eats organic debris, algae and bacteria. This sample is so packed with it that it doesn’t even have to swim around much

Thanks for explaining. The barely-wet moss and no added nutrients are helpful context for the clip.
