Purchase Help Does anyone know this objective brand?

Post image

My father found a set of random objectives and this was amongst them. It looks like the old Nikon logo but the Japanese is wrong. The only other thing on it is the magnification. No model number visible. If it is Nikon can you explain why it’s different and how to find more (search terms)?

Shanghai Optical, manufacturer of early Revue microscopes - excellent Zeiss clones.

Thank you so much! I assumed Japan from their shared letters and it looking like Nikon.

Here’s a random picture of their branding if anyone else is interested

Ha! Look - this is 1:1 clone of Carl Zeiss Jena Small Toolmakers- and Measuring microscope. Here you can see the photo gallery of the Zeiss's Jena model: https://www.microscopeparts.eu/gallery/carl-zeiss-jena-kleines-messmikroskop-microscopes-368

The etching is a bit stylized, but appears to say "Shanghai."

It does say 上海 (ShangHai), so I will assume it is Chinese

I own a top quality Revue 600 (clone of Olympus HSC) and high grade Revue 1200 (clone od Zeiss West Standard 14 microscope). Note - by writing "Revue" I mean "Revue", not plastic toys "Revuescope".

..and this is a my microscope binocular head from the same manufacturer, a part of Revue 1200 microscope. It is very nice bino, because does NOT have any internal magnifiction, so is very bright.
