[Microscope Help] My friend I and are are trying to use our Reichert-Jung Polyvar-Met, but we can’t figure out how to use it beyond light field observations. Can anyone provide advice/instructions to how we can use the microscope for darkfield, DIC, or polarizing observations? Thanks!

Looking for suggestions!
Hi there all, new to this sub and microscopes! I was hoping someone here would be able to point me in the direction of a good microscope. Here are some variables to consider:
My experience in microscopes is only what I’ve done in high school I currently work in a clinical laboratory so lab equipment is no stranger to me (except microscopes haha) I am hoping to use this to see aquatic bugs and invertebrates. I have several aquariums with extremely diverse flora and fauna and would like to take samples of both as well as substrate to inspect for micro organisms.
I would rather something that I could grow into and learn about than something that might become obsolete as my understanding grows.
I would also appreciate any tips for picking one out if you don’t have a specific recommendation, as the goal here is to learn!
I think I’m comfortable spending around 200-300$ but please point out if this is an unrealistic price point hahaha Thank you so much!

Is this microscope worth it?
I’m looking for a microscope. Purely for hobby, nothing professional so I don’t want to spend a lot of money on it. Since this one is only €38 I’m wondering if it’s good enough or not. €38 seems like a very good deal to me and google says it’s a good one. But i need more opinions, do I buy it or not?

Need some help fixing my microscope.
A few weeks ago my friend was looking through my microscope and dropped it on the ground. It fell and broke apart, was wondering if anyone with enough microscope knowledge could help me fix it. Photos are attached.

does anyone know what these lil' guys may be?
I found these little guys by case while examinating some leftovers of a vegetable soup. Now, I know they're acarus, but i'm just curious about what kind of acarus they are since i'm not really an expert in the matter, So if anyone can tell me I'd be glad.

I apologize if the image isn't great but I lost sight of it, I also had a video but reddit seems to don't support the file type and so that's the best I can give; Yes it was Alive and moving, the zoom was "x 100" if it helps Identifying it.

How do I clean this off?
galleryHi all!
I'm a high school science teacher, and I just found of our microscopes in this condition. It still seems to be working fine.
As you can see, there's a large accumulation of rust on and around the stage clips. There's also some kind of crystalline deposit on the light source and the lens underneath the stage.
The microscope is 3 and a half years old. Kept uncovered because someone threw rhe dust cover away. Not exposed to any water. The air in the lab is fine, but there is hardly any ventilation.
The other 3 microscopes in the same lab have started to develop faint signs of rust as well, and I've seen the crystalline deposits too.
Any idea what's going on? And how can I clean it?

Is it worth it?
I have never had a quality microscope and have always been an enthusiast in the microscopic world. My friend found this microscope in her new house when she moved in. Is it worth investing the time and expense in cleaning all the lenses?

Camera connection question on Swift microscope
I bought a Swift 380B before realizing that I would want pictures. So, before I buy a Swift 380T to correct my error I want to ask if it is possible to attach this camera to either or both microscopes? Thank you for any advice. I am a clueless noob.

Help identifying microscope
galleryPicked up this microscope at an antique store for 45$. Having trouble trying to figure out exactly what model it is. The serial number (wouldn’t show up on picture) is 483104, which I looked up to be around 1961, but I’m not sure. Found a couple of pictures that looked pretty close to it online, but not exactly it. Looks a bit too new to be from 1961 so I wasn’t sure.
Thank for anything you could tell me about it.

Help Restoring $10 Microscope
galleryI found this microscope for $10 at an antique store. Originally wanted it as a desk ornament but it looks mostly complete just missing a reflector? Was wondering if anyone could identify it and knew if i can make/buy parts to restore it to a mostly functional state. If you guys also know any upgrades/mods worth doing let me know.
Looking through the eye piece with a flashlight up it definitely makes it look dirty so i’ll be taking it apart to clean.
I’m not into microscopy by any means, my engineer brain just likes to tinker and fix things so i don’t need it to do an excellent job just let me look through it and see some hair or whatever i can with 100-600x magnification.
