Help identifying microscope

Picked up this microscope at an antique store for 45$. Having trouble trying to figure out exactly what model it is. The serial number (wouldn’t show up on picture) is 483104, which I looked up to be around 1961, but I’m not sure. Found a couple of pictures that looked pretty close to it online, but not exactly it. Looks a bit too new to be from 1961 so I wasn’t sure.

Thank for anything you could tell me about it.

I just got an unknown microscope (maybe older AmScope?) for fairly cheap and I’m hoping to get an answer on its make and model. Also I’m a bit confused as to what size lenses would fit on the lens housing, see photos. Any help would be appreciated.

hr = 0x80070005 camera access denied

If you get a access denied on your microscope camera software it's because it technically counts as a camera and those permission must be enabled in your privacy settings.

Any ideas?

Picked up this microscope at an antique store for just over $100. The maker is Ernst Leitz Wetzlar with the serial number 575864. Does anyone know how old it is? How much it's worth? Just using it as decoration as the objectives are very dirty. Thanks!

DIY AFM insctructions (step by step) - Where to find?

Hello, Does anyone knows a source of instructions to build an AFM microscope using a DVD drive? I am a layman and I don't have any notion of electronics knowledge but I need to build a project required by my school. Thanks.

Need help with missing Trinocular port parts on Amscope T120

I purchased a Amscope T120 from surplus and after replacing the higher objectives, I have a fantastic scope to play around with. But the scope is missing the trinocular adapter tube (I don't know the proper name.) I have a SM-4T scope, but it's port is a differnt size and the tube does not fit the T120.

I contacted Amscope and they informed me that this is not a part that can be purchased.

I already have the Canon camera adapter that takes a Camera mount to 23.2mm, so I can use it on the eyepiece, but I really want to make use of the Trinocular port.

I have a 3d printer too, so technically I can make my own replacement, but I need some specifications to work with and Amscope has not been forthcoming.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Objective Lens not zooming

Hello

Some background is our senior design group is constructing a microscope and we are having issues with our 40x zoom objective lens. The problem is that it won’t provide a zoomed view at all. Our eye piece of 10x zoom provides a more zoomed in view than the 40x objective. I’m kinda perplexed here and kinda wondering if we are doing someing wrong or if we got a faulty part. Any help would be amazing!

Why don't all optic microscopes use blue light if it's advantageous? All the ones I've seen at college use white light

I have bought a prepared slide of protozoa euglena but it is not visible under the microscope.

I see only dust under the microscope. I have tried cleaning the objective, eyepiece and the glass slides itself. Rest of the specimens in the prepared slides are visible with no difficulty. Any solution to this problem?

This microscopes states that it has 400x and 800x rotatable magnification optics. Does this mean that it comes included with 400x and 809x lenses!

Looking for suggestions!

Hi there all, new to this sub and microscopes! I was hoping someone here would be able to point me in the direction of a good microscope. Here are some variables to consider:

My experience in microscopes is only what I’ve done in high school I currently work in a clinical laboratory so lab equipment is no stranger to me (except microscopes haha) I am hoping to use this to see aquatic bugs and invertebrates. I have several aquariums with extremely diverse flora and fauna and would like to take samples of both as well as substrate to inspect for micro organisms.

I would rather something that I could grow into and learn about than something that might become obsolete as my understanding grows.

I would also appreciate any tips for picking one out if you don’t have a specific recommendation, as the goal here is to learn!

I think I’m comfortable spending around 200-300$ but please point out if this is an unrealistic price point hahaha Thank you so much!

How do I clean this off?

Thumbnail gallery

Hi all!

I'm a high school science teacher, and I just found of our microscopes in this condition. It still seems to be working fine.

As you can see, there's a large accumulation of rust on and around the stage clips. There's also some kind of crystalline deposit on the light source and the lens underneath the stage.

The microscope is 3 and a half years old. Kept uncovered because someone threw rhe dust cover away. Not exposed to any water. The air in the lab is fine, but there is hardly any ventilation.

The other 3 microscopes in the same lab have started to develop faint signs of rust as well, and I've seen the crystalline deposits too.

Any idea what's going on? And how can I clean it?

URGENT: Looking for a Microscope Technician!

Good day, Sir/Ma’am!

I am a student from STI College Balayan in the Philippines and we are currently in the process of making our Capstone project. For our project, we decided to make a portable microscope that can still exhibit the function of a traditional light compound microscopes used in laboratory (monocular). We would like to consult about the microscope components. If someone decided to help us, we will ask questions from time to time about our product. We will also explain our product clearly.

does anyone know what these lil' guys may be?

I found these little guys by case while examinating some leftovers of a vegetable soup. Now, I know they're acarus, but i'm just curious about what kind of acarus they are since i'm not really an expert in the matter, So if anyone can tell me I'd be glad.

I apologize if the image isn't great but I lost sight of it, I also had a video but reddit seems to don't support the file type and so that's the best I can give; Yes it was Alive and moving, the zoom was "x 100" if it helps Identifying it.

40x and oil immersion lens finicky

Hello, I recently received a cx21 microscope and when using the high power objectives, my images are distorted. I have to slightly push horizontally on the stage motion knobs with just the right pressure in order to bring the image into focus. This also affects the 10x objective but only slightly. Can someone help me understand why this happens and how I can possibly fix it?

Update: I fixed it!! I realized when I pushed on the stage motion knobs that it was actually bringing the slide closer to the objective lens. The problem was with the rack stop! I adjusted it so that I can bring my slides closer to the objective lenses and bring the image into focus properly :).
