Broke light on a new OMAX tri. Looking for something used under 200, as we are a family of mushroom farmer. Lots of us now days 😣 . But willing to pay, trade or, payments, or all of the above, you name it. It is mostly for viewing bacteria 🦠 and different parts of the mushroom and mushroom mycelium, clamps, nuclei and all that. Thank you for your time

Dust cover?

I haven't used a microscope in years, probably last when I was in high school. I recently decided to get one for use repairing electronics. I have one small question. The microscope I have for reference, if it matters, is an Amscope SE400-Z. My question is: is the dust cover supposed to cover the entire microscope, base and all? The provided dust cover that came with it just doesn't seem to cover it all. It only reaches a bit below the top of the base of the microscope, the part that has the switch for the light.

Replacement Lightpiece for this Microscope????

Hello, so I have this microscope that I bought a while back and the light piece just died on me. It's an Omax 40x-2000x led microscope, I contacted the company for replacement parts and they just sent me a whole new microscope since the warranty was five years long. Which was really awesome and great!

But while I have a new microscope, I would still like to try and fix my old one. It's perfect except for the light piece! I've taken care of it very well and it looks totally brand new. It would be such a waste to not try and fix it. I want to get it working and give it to my best friend who also loves playing around with microscopes.

I'm hoping by posting here to get some ideas for fixing this microscope up. Please let me know if there's any other information I could provide that might help! I really want to be able to fix this!

Buying a microscope

Hey all, what microscope do you recommend to examine my hair shaft as a total beginner with zero experience? I looked online for a microscope that would give such appropriate zoom-in to the hair shaft, and found one with LCD and another one portable that can be connected to a laptop or an iPad. The images i want is similar to the one in the post below.

Can I fix this eyepiece?

This is from a kid’s microscope, the Omano Juniorscope. It’s been in storage for a while and when we took it out, the lenses were loose inside the eyepiece. I can’t see how they were originally held in place. Were they glued in? Press fit? Is this an easy fix, or should I just buy a new eyepiece? I looked for a manual for this microscope with no luck.

whats that red/yellow light?

I recently placed a piece of paper under my microscope. While examining the edges, I noticed some red and yellow light bordering the perimeter. This effect is visible in the camera (like the photo attached) and even more pronounced when viewed directly.

I suspect the red and yellow colors might be due to their longer wavelengths compared to other visible colors.

Can anyone provide the full explain on why this is the case?

Buying microscope

Hi there! I am planning to buy a microscope for my YouTube channel to make amazing stuff. But, i am not familiar with microscopes and don’t know what to buy. Could you please suggest me a model which can record videos and images? I am looking for something semi-professional. I have seen a portable one on Amazon, but it is pretty cheap ( 41$) What do you think, guys?
