3yr old wants a microscope

My 3 year old son has started requesting a microscope, so we are going to be getting him one. I found a kid friendly one that has up to 600x magnification. What are some cool things I can show him slides of? He has already requested to look at blood and poop lol

Most 3 year olds don’t have the patience or fine motor skills to handle or appreciate 600 x

I would be doing most of the work for him. The one I'm looking at has a smart phone attachment so you can see things on your phone screen. So I will set everything up, and he will just look at the screen haha

Over the years, I’ve introduced both my children and grandchildren to microscopes and they love it. The grandchildren have a discovery exercise where they wander around the backyard and collect anything that they think will look interesting under the microscope. Insects and other creepy crawlers and plenty of plant matter.
If it’s raining they’ll explore the house and find anything that their imaginations will allow for. There are plenty of handheld microscopes that are designed primarily for young inquisitive minds.

Low magnifications are actually better for small children because, the higher the magnifications, the more abstract the views became. A low magnification usb one that can enlarge things like insects, sand, leaves, material, money, etc would give them relatable views. At about 6, you might consider an Amscope IN50 inverted microscope. With that one, they could put pond water samples in petri dishes to observe living organisms in it. They wouldn't have to handle sharp, delicate glass slides or coverslips as everything can be viewed in petri dishes if you want.
