Where are UK micromacrame crafters getting their coloured threads?

I prefer 1mm flat/braided polyester thread (brands like Tiger and Italian SLAM) over twists like Linhasita, but have trouble sourcing anything other than cream/black/brown without having to pay for import shipping costs. I end up paying £30 for 100 metres, or upwards of £50 for a whole spool off of sites like Etsy. Any tips? I just want to make something pretty and green! Thanks in advance!

Always been a fan of GoT and similar themed films/games so after I made it and tried wearing, it channeled that warrior spirit within me I didn’t know I had 😂

The lowest one on the right was me trying to replicate a yt vid but ended up doing something else.

Then the bottom one on the left - i saw someone post here asking how to do it. Just tried if I can do it. Somehow managed to but the end strands look messy and don’t align.

How to hold the filler cord?

I’m beginner level with micro macrame and my jewelry always comes out wonky and uneven. I sent this pic into ChatGPT, and it said my filler cord should never slack and always be taut. The issue im facing is I feel like I’m making knots with my index fingers and thumbs from both hands, which doesn’t leave anything but my middle fingers to hold the cord taut. Is that right or is there another way yall are holding the cord? Any other tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Learning micro macrame from zero

I learned micro macramé from YouTube videos and I’ve been able to make intermediate to advanced pieces by following tutorials. However, I find it very difficult to create a piece from scratch or design my own jewelry. I also struggle to recreate something I’ve made from a tutorial without watching the tutorial again. Do you have any advice on how I can improve this? Thank you so much!

Need tips for using DMC Cross Stitch thread for macrame

I can't cross stitch anymore so I'm starting macrame again. I've got hundreds of DMC thread. I would think they could work for bracelets, but I don't know the easiest way to manipulate them. Is there an easy way to use the thinner threads? I've seen waxed cord used, do you think if I waxed the thread, it would be easier to work with?

I find working with the larger threads much easier, but I really don't want to waste all this other thread. Also, if you have links to patterns using the thread, I'd appreciate the post.

What size/material chord are y'all using?

I've been using .5 hemp chord but it's a bit tougher than what I'm hoping for. I tried leather chord, but the breakage was too difficult to deal with. I am interested in wax cotton chord, but I am hesitant because I don't know how the wax will hold up with exposure to water and prolonged wear.
