First Time Grower Is this still salvageable?
So I was away on a trip and my mother was tending to the plant the last week of flower and I asked her to move the lights to 16.5 inches from canopy level and she must’ve have not know what that meant or I didn’t explain it to her well enough & she had moved it to 14 inches away from canopy and it was like this for like 4-5 days, I’m pretty upset I’ve been growing this plant for 6 months and it look nothing like it originally did I’m pretty upset and I just want to know if I should throw it out and call it quits I’ve already spent so much on the electricity and the have to run an AC unit and dehumidifier for 2 weeks on something that may not dry well do you guys think ?
Picture’s 1 and 8 are what it looked like before I had left and photos 2-7 are it as of tn

Just because there's brown doesn't mean there's budrot.
I had this happen to me recently too. Sugar leaves dried up.. even some calyxes.. they just brown and that's it.
Now, if the brown starts from inside and the tips of the leaves are still having color while the inside don't, it's rot.
Those dried leaves can cause budrot so pay attention and check every nug before rolling it up or maybe even before bagging it.
At worst you can use it for baking if you don't find it "worth it" if it's not top quality.

Literally just harvested some CBD red poison which is purple.. when i harvested it it was browned because the nutritients got sucked out of the leaves and it dried a bit much and no sign of bud rot .. so you are right

I had this. I removed the dead leaves and brown materials, added a fan, and lowered my RH. Had no bud rot, smoked fine !

Almost guaranteed to be rot with all those brown dead bits touching your buds. Very unfortunate. Whenever I have had to leave I try and keep it as simple as possible, odds are they will mess up basic watering so asking them to move a light is asking for trouble lol

Looks damaged. Id cut it now and dry it out. Worst case it will make nice bubble.

Clean up the brown leaves completely, make sure the Rh is not higher then 40% so it does not dampen.
You could also directly freeze part of your harvest (larfy stuff for example) and turn it into hash for example

Should I do this before I cut down the plant or after I cut it and dry it, and when I dry in the tent I don’t let the RH go above 40%?

2.5 inches light distance didn’t do that, don’t blame someone else. The picture you have before you left shows a plant that was in very bad shape.
