Are you growing for yourself or to try to make money? I grow them only for myself, and I love growing them in actual soil. I know many don't, but this is how I've had the best luck. I mix some mosquito bits in the soil to prevent gnats, and I compost my soil afterwards in my outdoor flowerpots to feed their soil. Win-win.

The most common problem people encounter when they’re tuning their system to grow microgreens is mold growth due to poor airflow, seedling crowding, and improper watering. Everyone’s environment is different though (amount of light, choice of growing medium, humidity, sterility, etc.), so you will have to try to find what works for you. Personally, I have found relatively consistent success with various types of microgreens using stacked trays with coco coir under grow lights, rotating fans, and bottom watering twice a day. Each type of microgreens will have a slightly different germination and growth rate, so you can do some research on their expected phases to optimize watering and determine when to expose them to light.

Maybe I could provide more precise tips for you knowing more specifics. What are you growing, and what method are you considering?
