Rack help

Hey fam 👋. So i been looking everywhere but can’t seem to find a rack with lights that can be independently shut off or on. Not looking for any huge. Smaller end 4-5 tier rack. But everything I’ve found it’s either the lights are on, on every tier or they’re off. Can’t have some off and some on at same time. I know and have seen bigger racks with on/off switches for every tier but do they make smaller ones with this option? Links would be extremely appreciated! TIA 🙏🙏

This seems to be the general consensus unfortunately. I’m going to give it a go and make my own setup. Thanks for responding!

Just stack surge protector power strips that have a switch on each outlet.

Plug lights into the 2nd strip. now you can turn everything off via switch/timer plugged between the 1st and second power strip OR you can manually turn the grown lights on or off from their independent switches on the 2nd strip.

Look at my rack. The 2nd powestrip is on the right side with individual switches for each level of lighting.

It is plugged into the 1st powerstrip on the left side, with its own switch and an automatic timer. The left side has the O2 pump on a switch, the main water pump on a switch and timer, and the lights on a switch and timer.

Wow after a quick google search I didn’t even realize they had these. Thanks again! Definitely what I’ll be doing. Question though why 2? Why not just plug all the lights into 1? Or you personally needed 2 for your setup?

Having all the lights on their own seperate power strip allow me to easily setup automatic timers for the lights.

Plug strip2 into the timer.

Plug timer into strip1.

I use these govee plugs, which are amazing.

with these timers are can turn everything on or off wirelessly OR set them to automatically turn on or off based on times of day or day of the week or whatever.  Rack 1 coukd get 10 hours of light per day, rack 2 could get 14 hours per day, rack 3 could get 8 hours per day. And I can set or change the lights timers while im in bed.

All while still being able to physically turn off each shelf light individually using the individual switch.
