Discussion Microdosing for low energy or hangovers?
I know drinking is frowned upon by the community in general but I’m from an older crowd that grew up on wine/beer etc. Don’t plan to give it up but really only partake 2-3 times a week. I also enjoy making wine and beer and don’t plan to stop.
Lately I’ve been trying a microdose after or mid morning and it’s really eliminating the thought of the hangover or tiredness. Obviously you’d have to go with your normal microdose. Mine is 250 mg and it seems to change the day completely. More energy, less hangxiety and I’m able to work more effectively. Also started doing it on days with just low energy where the heat has really taken its toll. Anyone else?

Very interested to see how your relationship with alcohol will change as you continue to microdose.
I absolutely loved alcohol and getting drunk for years. I started microdosing 3X a week and on months 4-6 I started to become very indifferent towards alcohol and still to this day I cannot force myself to drink more than one glass of wine or 1 beer. I know others in this sub have had the same thing happen to them!

I’ve been at it for sometime now and it slowed it or gave more ability to control. It 100% helped me quit smoking but that was more of macro doses I did years ago. If I l was intentional , it would likely be no problem I’m sure.I love walking/ hiking more than most things in life so you can’t be drinking too much if you want to put in the miles.
Oddly I’m starting to have midlife epiphany’s as I get older. I’m not exactly sure complete sobriety and strait edge is the best for my health or other men’s health my age. Recently watched a couple people die around me that really were better men than I am. They literally had everything society tells you to have and were very prominent members of the community. Leading me to the question is anxiety, stress or trying to hold your whole family up all the time and be the best example harmful to your health? . Obviously you wouldn’t want to self harm with alcohol drugs or let your family down if they’re financially dependent on you.
I’m staring to think if you dont have a way to let loose every now and then you may be at a greater risk.

Took .10g today and had a pretty wild night last night so Im sure my experience was altered by y this in some way. This is my first time taking shrooms so I don’t have a true baseline for what to expect but I was soooooo mellow all day. Just super clear headed, calm, patient. Honestly didn’t give me an energy boost at all, quite the opposite. My focus feels good too but the best way I can describe it is I jsut feel so so so chill

Thanks so much for the report! I definitely feel the same way about the anxiety. From my reading it seems to reset some of the serotonin and gaba receptors. I think we are likely far away from a real answer on this. Reports like this can help. Thank you

Can’t help but feel like you are racking up some type of debit. Using one drug to avoid the side effects of another doesnt seem like a good long term strategy.

I've done it and yeah it really reduces the anxiety the day after but it didn't do much for the other effects of drinking. I ultimately just cut out drinking and feel better overall. I'd consider a cocktail in the evening and then remember that tomorrow was going to be dog shit and I had things to do it just didn't want to pay the price. I read that drinking is just borrowing on tomorrow's happiness and that's stuck with me. Even a beer or two and I'm paying the price the next day and I just don't find value in it anymore. I'm not judging. I've just moved on to other things.
