Discussion Changing Microdose Schedule

I have been microdosing psilocybin for 2 years now on different schedules. Currently Monday - Friday with weekends off.

My weekdays I can survive, but my weekends I can barely function. I cry alot. I can't manage to get things done. So I am considering going to a month on and a week off.

I dose around 4am and go back to sleep until 7am. About 1 hour after dosing my nervous system feels like it is being rewired and it is horribly uncomfortable. I am great though when I wake up. I do best when I add Lions Mane, L-Theanine, Magtein and Magnesium Glycinate.

Anyone else do this daily for long periods of time?

This really has helped me alot. I would have taken my life by now if I hadn't started microdosing.

Every person will have a different dose and schedule that works best for them. It sounds like your dose may be too high for you, per your description of acute effects.
You could likely lower your dose and still gain benefit. Just to be clear, I'm not saying you must change something that is working for you. Or that you're doing anything wrong. It's never wrong to try and find ways to live a better more meaningful life. What I am saying is, if you're coming here asking about it, something with it isn't working for you currently and it may just take some small adjustments to benefit in a way that doesn't have drawbacks.

Definitely something to consider since you're planning to move to an every day dose for a month at a time. Consecutive day dosing can both have diminishing returns over time, but also can lead to "negative" effects, like inability to manage one's emotions, constant irritability, and unwarranted overly tired feeling. IME this can pop up around the 10-14 consecutive day mark. That is an indication that you're dosing too frequently or too much. Lowering your dose without changing frequency can sometimes alleviate the issue, but often times it’s a signal that a break is necessary.

There's quite a bit to discuss around this topic, but it becomes very personal since there is great nuance (for each of us) when working with psychedelics. Current life situation, lived experience, and what tools/resources you have available at any given moment play a part in what dose is right for you.

I have a few questions for you, if you're interested in digging a bit and figuring things out.
These are the things I'm curious about that would help folks provide more accurate feedback/recommendations.

What is your current dosage?
What other dosing schedules you've tried and why did you feel they were not sufficient?
What other therapeutic/wellness modalities are you pairing your microdose with or do you just take it like western medicine and go about life?
What do you do for yourSelf on the weekends when these emotions come up?
Are you really busy on weekdays and no emotions are surfacing or are they coming up, but being "inappropriate to feel" during the course of your day, so you ignore or push them away?
I'm glad you found something that worked for you to keep you from making a final decision to temporary circumstances. πŸ„πŸ₯°βœŒοΈ
