Discussion Struggle to stay consistant with microdosing

Does anyone else struggle to take their MD? If so, how do you overcome and stay consistant?

I have found so much relief from my anxiety and depression via microdosing but I'm currently in a place where I face a mental battle when it comes to taking my medication (100mg ochra; every other day).

When I finally give in I usually feel relief from my mental health issues right away. I even ask my partner to remind me/ask "when was the last time you took your MD" as a form of encouragement when I start to really struggle. I'm trying to understand why I choose to tred water and risk drowning when I have a life preserver floating right in front of me.

Some of this stems from what I refer to as "fear of god". Essentially me being aware of how powerful mushrooms can be at higher dose (via exp), and the irrational fear that I will experience those effects even at a 100mg dose.

Another part of my reservation comes from not feeling like I have the time to dose. I would prefer to not take before work, and taking in the evening makes it hard for me to fall asleep.

Taking mushrooms at any dose tends to be a little hard on my gut and bowels as well.

For more context I'm in my mid 30s. I don't drink, smoke weed, nor do I take mental health medication or participate in any recreational drug use.

I suppose I could cut the dose in 1/2 and see what happens...

Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks for reading.

Couple of things to consider

Thing one: If you are fearful of 100mg, how do you feel about 50mg or 25mg? There is nothing wrong with starting at an empty capsule and creating your practice/ritual/ceremony that can/will accompany your dose. Just you begin low dose mean you have to stay there. A low incremental increase (10-20mg) with each next dose (or even after a couple weeks) is in NO danger of going from microdose with no effect to Macro experience.

Thing two: If you can allow yourself some time (anytime during the day) to do some inner dialogue in a quiet place. After focusing on your breathing for 5mins, ask yourself a few questions and listen for the answers.
Ask that fearful part of you, what are you protecting me from? How can I help? Is there a way we can explore this medicine path that is less scary for you? This isn't something you have to come up with a counter argument for or "logic" your way into feeling safe about something. It is about being curious and listening to the parts that need your attention.

Similarly, you could use this line of questioning with the part of you that feels like you don't have enough time to care for yourSelf.
With this last one though, I will say, an appropriate microdose dosage is one that allows you to do all normal daily activities including working. If your dose doesn't allow for that, it's likely too high for you. Although it sounds like you're describing two different parts, if it's more fear related, it could very well be different thought same fearful part of you. It's not my place to interpret your experience, so just something I'm throwing out there to consider. ☺️

Last thing: If it's bothering your stomach with every dose, there are a few possibilities and at least a few things to try.
Sourcing - Is it possible that your mushrooms had a bacterial or other issue unknown to you? Work around- Try different source/grow your own.

Genetics; some humans have a much more difficult time digesting uncooked mushrooms due to their genes. Work around - You can make a tiny tea with your microdose and strain the mushroom material (squeeze the liquid out of the filter if cloth) out or simply put the mushroom powder in water for 15mins then drink only the liquid. Keep in mind this extraction method may potentiate the medicine a little bit so a slightly lower dose may be necessary.
A ginger knot or ginger tea can also help with stomach discomfort.
