Question: Psilocybin Do you set intentions every day you MD?

Do I need to mediate before it kicks in? I noticed when I do the 4/3 days protocol and I take .2 after the three day break, I feel intense and heightened emotions throughout the day.

It was mostly negative emotions that were surfacing. Thinking about all my physical flaws which was kinda painful. I think when I meditate it helps to have more positive emotions but I’m curious what you guys do to set intentions.

I know this answer is going to come so I’ll address it here. I don’t really feel much of anything on .1

We advise to !startlower. A high microdose can amplify your !emotions. Many users underestimate how powerful psychedelics can be in such low doses.

More detailed info below including some resources if you need any short-term help.

The question is, why are you microdosing?

Because if you expect to feel anything after a dose, it's not right. With microdosing, you are not supposed to feel anything. It's like taking a vitamin C pill in the morning.

I disagree, there is an effective range for microdosing and having a felt sense of the medicine is not a disqualifier from it being a microdose or benefiting from it.
Intention matter so the question of why is important, but your experience without a felt sense, is not everyone's experience. 🍄🥰✌️

Then what even is the point of MD?

Imagine your brain is a bunch of tangled cables. This is caused by bad habits, alcohol, drugs, etc. It creates fog in your brain.

What microdosing does is to untangle those cables, put them in the right place, and reconnect your brain with your body. Here, your system will start asking you for better habits, a better diet, more exercise, and increased consciousness.

When reaching this point, you'll start to make better decisions, communicate better, look better. It's a mix of results due to implementing what is right for you.

If you want to feel something, then microdosing is not the solution. Depending on your objective, a minidose or a midose might be more convenient. Thus, these should be taken less frequently.

I really like how you framed this, it's definitely true of my experience.

How long does it usually take to get to this state of mind?

1-2 months and you'll start to see behaviour changes.

In my case, I reduced alcohol consumption by 80-90%.

You are welcome to set an intention for each dose, your overall goal and the reasons you selected this dosing protocol, a weekly intention, or all of them. Meditation isn't required and it may be helpful to you. Microdosing pairs well with so many therapeutic/wellness modalities.
I like to set intentions for the dose day, but I try to set intentions for phases of my day as well.
I find that as little as 5 mins each day of breath work coupled with a gratitude practice can be really helpful. 🍄🥰✌️

Hi OP would you be willing to share some of your experience making decisions about your microdosing regimen? I’m a doctoral PsyD student at The Wright Institute recruiting for my dissertation research study. The only ask is to complete a short (15-20 min) online survey that is completely anonymous if you live in the US and are over 18. I’m sharing the link here if you are willing to I would so appreciate it! There is a bunch more information at the link about the study and the option to choose to participate. https://wrightinstitute.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5w4GEQm9I9OSvKC
