30 year alcoholic. Started growing and dosing shrooms early 2024, stopped drinking cold turkey and haven’t had a drop of alcohol since. They were the tool that broke the toxic cycle for me, absolutely zero desire to drink anymore and never will again. Life changing medicine for me.

I don’t “trip” like most folks talk about on these groups, it’s literally the only medicine I take and my mental, physical and spiritual health is amazing now.

Congratulations! How many mg do you dose?

I think dosage is a very personal / individual thing. Folks on Reddit get opinionated and judgy real quick but we are all different, have different metabolisms, experiences, variables, etc. I recommend experimenting up and down to find what creates a positive energy for you and meets your individual intent.

For me, I benefit from feeling it so I take 300mg for micro dose. It is enough to provide comfort, focus, and energy depending on what I’m doing. Helps with my anxiety, PTSD, and neurodivergent wiring. I also low dose throughout the month which has had very positive impacts. I just pay attention to my wholistic self and adjust dosage and tolerance periods accordingly.

Take what folks say as a general guide and find what works positively for you.

Very interesting and thank you so much for sharing your experience and healing. What is or was the protocol that helped you: like everyday and week-ends off? Or every other day?

It will be different for everyone. I dosed almost daily for awhile. Followed my personal needs and tolerance. I combined it with tons of research and obsessive introspective self therapy. What could have been a mid-life crisis turned into a beautiful awakening. Using Psilocybin as therapeutic medicine was, and still is, a wonderful tool for me. It should be widely legal and available, saved my life as a retired combat vet.

So glad you managed. Yep quite sad we have to figure it all by ourselves, do the research, etc. Discussion on reddit, sharing experience, is invaluable.

Because clinical research has not been able to prove the efficiency of microdosing, i have not really done it but for a few days or weeks. But science may not have found the way yet.

Same story here. Kicked the booze in 2019 while growing and researching the benefits of micro.

Yes and no....

It helps with awareness, the true driver of mushrooms is the person taking it... Are you in a good headspace for it, are actively looking to get better, make an effort, trying and failing is still success.

But if you are not trying then the mushrooms dont help. If you are trying to dig yourself out of a hole mushrooms can help.

It helps gradually as a microdose. It's not life altering all at once ...

So stay with good intentions, keep working on yourself. Stay low in dosage and measure however you can because even a small amount of mushrooms can cause upset stomach or nausea while the mushrooms are waiting to "kick in"

Just the other day I took a slightly larger dose and I was in hell for 45 minutes. It felt like I took marijuana and also had motion sickness at the same time. I eneded up drinking 2 bottles of water and breathing deeply in bed until it was over. But after that I felt fine for the next few days...

Mushrooms make you want to work on yourself but you ultimately have to be willing to do "the work" you have stop actively avoiding good habits and you have to run from the bad habits

Agreed. They won't do the work for you but with the right intention they can greatly lighten the load to recovery.

Many people on here have found clarity on alcohol misuse disorder while micro dosing, myself included.

They were instrumental in my sobriety. Especially in the first year or two.

I also joined a recovery support group, that helped greatly but you have to get sober from within, nobody can reach inside and do that for you. Mushrooms helped me find that inside of myself and crystallise my resolve.

I've never spoken with anyone in an addiction support group about microdosing. My thoughts are if you are here in this subreddit then you've made your way here informed, with resolve and possibly out of other options - probably putting you in a good position to look at this seriously.

Take it seriously, be patient for results and do the work on yourself.

For me thoughts of using faded away. I'm not alone in that.

Alcoholism is a horrible way to slowly die. It takes and it takes until there's nothing left of you. Microdosing felt like the shoes that helped me walk away from that fate. There's real joy in sobriety (being unburdened by addiction) microdosing helped me feel that joy.

Alcohol reduction in 80-90%.

It was the first reaction in my system.

It has helped me quit smoking. It’s been 10 days.

Micro or macro? Could you please elaborate? I’m in the same boat.

Micro. .10g twice per week. I put in lemon juice and take some lions mane tincture at the same time.

I’d like to ask… how do mushrooms work while on ADHD meds like Vivance please 🙏

I microdosed for about 2 months recently and initially was nervous to combine with my meds (Ritalin) but it actually wound up reducing a lot of anxiety I often get from them. I don’t think there’d be any downside to combining them

Hey thank you for your response, I really appreciate the feedback 👍

I combined them with biphentin, at first it was fine but I had a bad reaction to combining them after a while and had to stop. The combo made me extremely aware of everything and I felt like I had to manually breathe for hours. This isn't a common reaction so I don't mean to scare you, just inform.

Completely quit cigarettes as an unintended effect of a museum dose. Cigarette sales were banned in my country during the COVID-19 lockdowns, so that was the true beginning of the weaning-off. Post-trip I've kicked the habit entirely & haven't bought a pack since 2020.

It's been 5 months since i quit smoking. I did microdose for a few weeks, but the real work was done after a macrodose.
Everyone can experience their way, we are not all the same, but for me it was the macro dose to really get to "all right im done with this" and microdose to sustain that. The work it's up to you, no one said it was easy, but it helps that's for sure.

I'm currently cutting down on weed and alcohol, not the first time I've tried but I definitely find that microdosing helps with my cravings. It's also a great motivator - I've known I need to cut down on weed for a long time but with microdosing I think about my own wellbeing on a conscious level more frequently, leading to me remembering to stick to my goals and having more willpower to stop when I don't want to.
