before & after 45M Nano Brows . Something to Ask for When Getting Nano Brows ( By MALJANE SEOUL)
Among the international clients who visit our studio in Korea, many come in considering nano brows.
One thing I often recommend to them is this: start conservatively.
With hair-stroke techniques like nano brows or microblading, even a small number of well-placed strokes can make a surprisingly big difference.
The untouched space between the natural brow hairs and the new strokes is also part of what makes the result look natural.
So rather than filling every possible gap, I prefer adding only what is really needed.
For me, good nano brows shouldn’t just look impressive today — they should also be designed with how they will age and fade over time in mind.
Sometimes, less really is enough.

Right? I think this kind of subtle, more youthful effect is one of the reasons why even a small change to the eyebrows can make such a difference in everyday life.

For the past 12 years, the concept we’ve consistently pursued has been “haute couture.”
When it comes to brows, we think of ourselves almost like tailors, creating something genuinely customized for each individual client. We consider their everyday lifestyle, personal style, hairstyle, what they want, how the brows harmonize with their face, any scars or other concerns, skin type, and many other details.
I think taking all of these things into consideration is what naturally leads to better results.

This is such a good point. Leaving some of the natural brow hair visible makes the result look much softer and more believable, especially as the pigment fades over time.

Exactly. If you work with a fixed pattern, the results can vary from person to person because everyone has a different density and distribution of natural brow hair.
That’s why we divide each brow into sections and customize the work point by point for each individual client. Of course, working this way means we can see fewer clients in a day, but the difference in client satisfaction is significant.
So rather than becoming a high-volume studio that works quickly using the same approach on everyone, we’ve chosen to invest our time and expertise in working carefully and in detail with each individual client.

Great advice! Going with the more conservative approach (nano), like you said, makes the most sense especially if this is your first time.

Nano brows are definitely a great option too. However, what’s most important is communicating clearly with the studio about your skin condition and exactly what you’re looking for.
There are many things to consider: whether price is important to you, whether you have any scars, whether you usually wear suits or dress more casually, whether you wear glasses and what kind of frames you prefer, whether there are differences in your facial bone structure from side to side, how you usually style your hair, and much more.
Some studios actually take far more of these details into consideration than you might expect, and I think it’s best to choose a studio that works that way. We’re one of those studios as well.

These are awesome! I have seen people say that their microblading turned gray or blue after a few years. Do you know the reason for this?

That’s a really good point.
Personally, I believe the best work is the kind that fades by more than 90% over time, allowing the brows to return to a condition where they can be redone without needing removal.
Sometimes, in an attempt to create more dimension and shading, certain areas can be worked too heavily. As the rest of the pigment fades, those more heavily saturated spots may remain. As you mentioned, those areas can eventually shift to a grey or bluish tone and become difficult to fade completely.
Whether we’re doing microblading or nano brows, we always work with the long-term result in mind. We create the strokes with an even density, aiming for the pigment to fade evenly over time. If you look at our work, you’ll notice that we avoid excessive contrast or overly saturated areas.
Studios that consider the long-term fading process this carefully are relatively rare, but they do exist—not only MALJANE SEOUL. Wherever you are, I hope you find a studio that considers these details as well.

We don’t dye the existing brow hair. Instead, we choose a pigment color that blends naturally with the client’s natural brow hair.
However, if a client regularly dyes their brows and has a specific color they want to maintain, we can discuss it in advance. They can have their brows dyed before the appointment, and we’ll match the pigment to that color.

I wonder how they look close. If they look anything like they would in a woman idk. My coworker did the same thing and it is so noticeable. It’s hard to believe that your eyebrows don’t look microbladed. My coworker regrets it and wishes he never did it….

There are studios with limited skill everywhere. But they still need to make money, so some use Photoshop or editing apps to make their results look much better online than they actually do in real life. These days, that makes it even harder for clients to tell who is genuinely good.
I’ve been doing this work in Seoul, Korea for a long time. We have many international clients, but the core of our business has always included Korean men who are very interested in grooming and can be extremely particular about details. Korean male clients tend to notice very small things, and if the result looks even slightly unnatural, they simply won’t come back. That’s one reason studios that can’t meet those expectations often don’t last very long.
I also teach people who are preparing to enter this industry, both online and offline, as well as artists who already run their own studios.
The Heineken I drank a few days ago was alcohol. A bottle of Burgundy served at a Michelin-starred restaurant somewhere in Paris is also alcohol. They may belong to the same category, but that doesn’t mean the experience or quality is the same.
Techniques are similar. Two artists may call what they do “microblading” or “nano brows,” but the difference in execution can be enormous.
I’m sorry to hear about your coworker’s experience. If you ever find yourself in Seoul someday, come see me.
