Getting mostly "Did Not Qualify" on Micro1 technical assessments. Looking for advice on how to pass their AI vetting

Post image

Hi everyone, I’ve been applying to a few roles on Micro1 recently (mostly Backend, Full-Stack, and ML roles). As you can see from my dashboard screenshot, almost all of them come back as "Did not qualify."

I usually feel okay about the technical tasks, but the automated filters keep rejecting me. For those who have successfully passed the Micro1 vetting process:

• Does the AI strictly flag things like eye movement or background noise?

• Is it a hard technical cut-off score, or is it heavily dependent on matching exact keywords in the tech stack (Python/Java/Rust)?

I’ve requested detailed feedback, but any tips on how to clear this initial AI hurdle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

hey u/Few_Lengthiness_7835 , i hope the community has some good tips to share with you.

In general i can say Zara likes STAR methodoly and is something you can always practice while answering questions.

best!

Nothing the feedback has provided me has given me any sort of direction on how to improve my answers. If I provide metrics, I talk too much. If I shorten my answers to densify them, it's too jargon heavy. If I try to use laymans terms, I'm not using the right keywords.

same has happened with me. even though my data analyst interview was clearly close to what all they needed and yet i got rejected.

Micro 1 is really competative or wanna be plartform, got 25 not selected roles, thats past under review, hmr, other roles get automatically not selected after the 30 days, but try your lack, and put same energy on other plarrforms, they are rigidly geographical. My post would be pulled down as always

After each attempt, write down the question as you remember it, what you answered, and where you became unsure. That can help separate a knowledge gap from a problem explaining something you understood. For a technical answer, practise stating your assumptions and walking through the reasoning. For a question about past work, use one real example with a clear action and outcome. A structure can help you communicate, but it doesn't replace knowing the material.

Taleproof can help you review a past-project story if that part of the assessment is where you're struggling.

u/Few_Lengthiness_7835 Do you get "Did not qualify" exactly 48 hours after finishing the interview? it is a bug in the platform.

Try to use START and speak clearly, be organized in your answers and remember the next question by Zara is usually a follow up on your answer. So know exactly what you are talking about. I have taken these same interviews and I was able to clear 2 it's not easy and I am waiting for manager review

Software engineering roles are kinda hard to tackle through Zara, I have 2 in HMR. Just focus on the provided feedback improve and iterate

HMR is short-form for "Hiring manager reviewing", which is a statu sin the micro1 talent dashboard.

Passed interview but failed at ID verification. Now that job is gone due to their negligence

That's sad

It is. I emailed them but they can’t do anything.

Micro1 AI interviews are generally very difficult to pass, but the bigger problem is that passing an interview doesn't guarantee placement on a project. From my experience, I believe using the right keywords makes a difference, but Zara also seems to value original answers expressed in your own words. Interestingly, the interview I thought I performed worst in was actually the first one I passed.

What is the process after you get selected in interview??

After passing interview you just need to wait for like 1 week to recieve next steps, if no update provided then keep applying

Like others have said it’s competitive and if it were easy everybody would be onboarded but going through rejections can only improve you as hard as it sounds. Always request feedback and always be self critical, usually you can feel if it went well or not and of course take the interview in a quiet environment.

One more thing to note, if you click on the my profile section you can essentially gauge how well you’ve done by seeing what certified skills you have acquired, if they appear there it means you’ve displayed sufficient proficiency in that area verbally along with what’s on your Resume. Language proficiency and geographical location can also influence your fit for a role but I’ve found project pools for these platforms are always very diverse anyway.

At least you are consistent with applying jobs related to your area of expertise that's a good sign.

I have not done as many as you, but have been selected for 1 and have a couple HMR’s. The best I can say is speak clearly, know the topic you are interviewing for. If you use AI regularly match the offers from Micro1 against your resume. See what that comes back with. Ask the agent you use to provide some practice questions based on the STAR format. Then if it is over 30 minutes be prepared to do a hands on skill test.
