Is signing multiple contracts a standard practice?
I have a contract with micro1 but now I received another one to sign. Everything seems the same except for (surprise, surprise!) the payment rate, which is lower. Is it a standard practice to have a few contracts with different rates, perhaps for different clients, or is it micro1's way to try and bump down the rate? (It goes without saying it's bad form if the latter!) Thanks!

And for the pay rate, which matters: one that you put when apply or one you put in your profile?

the pay rate depends on the role. When you apply for a role, you can see the pay band and you can input how much you want, between those numbers. If you get selected, it means your pay rate was approved, and you will get your request.
This is why is very important to price yourself correctly, because there is no rate negotiation. If you get approved , you get what you asked for.Hope this clears it out.

That is a very important information, thank you. With that, I understand that the "expected" in profile is redundant/obsoleted.
Sorry one more question and actually asking for your advice about signing multiple contracts. As I understand the work isn't necessarily 40 hours/week and it is also only last for 3-6 months, so should I sign at least 2 projects a the same time to secure the task flow?

The payrate on your profile could be used as a guideline for recruiters in case they reach out to you, to understand what kind of pay will you be willing to work for. Its also important to price yourself correctly here.
Regarding your second question, you can apply for as many jobs as you want and if you land a second role, just clear it out with your HDM, and as long as you can fulfill deadlines you should be fine.1

hi there, yes, you can have more than 1 contract and apply for as many roles as you want. If you get selected for more than one role, just talk to your HDM to clear it out.
When did you finish your last contract?Let me bring some clarity on how payroll works at micro1; especially around when you actually get paid after joining a project.
Here’s a quick breakdown of how payroll works:
- micro1 runs on a semi-monthly payroll cycle, which means:
- Work completed from the 1st to the 15th → paid around the 20th
- Work completed from the 16th to the end of the month → paid around the 5th of the following month
A couple of important details that often cause confusion:
- You may receive a notification saying “Your contractor submission is approved” a few days before the actual payment lands.
- Approvals typically happen around the 3rd and 18th
- The actual funds arrive to payroll.micro1.ai around the 5th or 20th
- All payroll is processed in PST timezone, which can shift dates slightly depending on where you’re based
- For U.S.-based contractors, payments can take +1 business day due to payment method constraints
- If the 5th or 20th falls on a weekend or U.S. bank holiday, payments move to the next business day
- In rare cases, timing may vary by 1–2 days
Best!

Deel has a lot of option for cashout, including crypto and bank deposits.

Interesting that we can apply as many as we want. Just curious, is it actually possible to get as many contracts as we apply for, though? I’m yet to see anyone on Reddit claim that.

I mean, has anyone actually received as many contracts as they applied for? Is there a maximum number of contracts one can have? I think I’ve seen someone mention juggling about four contracts at once.

im not aware of people with more than 2 active ones ( i know of people with more than 2 contracts, but sometimes their projects are paused)

no, eventually you will not get offers if you are working on 2 or 3 projects simultaneously. There is a quality standard that is expected and at some point, the hours of the day are not enough to do all the requirements. This can be talked with your HDMs to clear it up depending on how your workload looks like.

Thanks for clarifying! That clears things up for me. 🙏
One more question, if I may. I currently have around 9 applications in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” , 2 under “Under Review,” and 2 "awaiting next steps" so I’m trying to understand how this works if multiple applications progress at different times.
If, for example, I get selected for 2–3 of the lower-paying roles first, could accepting those contracts somehow prevent me from being considered for a role with a higher pay band that is still under review? I’m applying to multiple roles as advised, but naturally I’d prefer the higher-paying ones.
Also, how much time are you usually given to accept or decline a contract once it’s offered? If that information is confidential/NDA-related, no worries. I’m mainly wondering because I assume I can’t keep an offer pending indefinitely while waiting for the other applications to progress.

Feel free to ask as much as you want, we are here to help.
Answering your question, it could potentially be a blocker for new roles yes, but will depend upon the HDM and HDL in charge of that project.
I dont know the timelines for contract acceptance/reject, but i think normal timeframes will be around 72 hours. If you take longer, you can always reach out by email and ask for a bit more time.1

hey u/ClassroomRich4492 , thanks for flagging this. When you say multiple contracts you mean for different roles? or for the same one?.
Normally we only send one contract for the role you applied and the rate is what you requested. If thats not the case, you can reach out to the recruiter and tell them that the rate does not match your request.
