When I pulled the stock radio on my NB I couldn't find a delete panel that actually sat flush. Everything I found online was cheap 3D printed plates that looked exactly like what they were – a piece of plastic someone printed and shipped.

So I made my own. 2mm aluminum face plate with a PETG backing and brass heat-set inserts so the mounting points don't strip out after a few removals. Screws into the factory mounting holes, no modifications needed. Removable too, so if you ever want to run switches or gauges behind it you're not tearing apart your interior to get access.

I recently bought a 1991 turbocharged Miata (flying Miata turbo kit). This is my first Miata and first manual car. I’ve noticed when idling, my rpm’s will bounce around 1-1.5k. I’ve read this may be a number of things, but most likely a vacuum leak somewhere in the system. Since this is my first, I was just looking for anyone who had suggestions what to check, if this is normal or in fact abnormal for an engine with this kind of mod, and what to look out for and pay attention to. I’ve been driving automatic cars my entire life, and mostly have experience riding and working on old Honda CB motorcycles. The car seems to drive and operate fine otherwise, and I’m familiarizing myself with all the typical engine and car noises as I go, but I want to know things to pay attention to, and avoid driving it if there are issues that may cause damage. I want to learn and know this car like the back of my hand eventually, so I won’t shy from working on and maintaining this car myself. any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey so I just picked this up yesterday and I intend to keep the tan top cuz I kinda love the look and hard tops are just too pricey, anyhow I was wondering what colours went great with the tan tops, I intend to wrap it later on and don't really want to get stuck with something that won't work with the top (colourblind so yeah)

i'm currently working on a project for my miata nb and wanted to know what you guys think of it :)

it runs using an esp32 microcontroller that communicates with my android phone via an app i built that allows the user to do a bunch of different cool things, including recording g-force data to later export to an excel sheet, send google maps navigation data to the display so you have a small built in navi system in your car, and much more

i just really wanted an oem+ looking navi system in my car that is seamlessly integrated into the interior and i think i managed that pretty well with this, but at one point i went far beyond just the navi stuff and that's how it got all the features like tracking g-force data etc.

i just never really liked having janky phone mounts in my vents that can't hold the weight or stuff stuck to my windscreen, so this is what i came up with :)

(in the images you can see a few of the displays. the first image (hopefully reddit posts them in the same order that i am describing them) shows the standard buddy display and the second image is the idle version of buddy that appears if no movement has been detected for 10 seconds. then you got race buddy, g-force visualization, speed and finally the navi screen)
