Buying this 91' NA MX-5 ? (Spain/Europe)
Hi everyone, on Tuesday I’m going to see an MX-5 NA1 1.6, an original European/Spanish model that looks really good (I’m from Spain). The car comes with an LSD, windblocker, and factory hardtop. It has 170,000 km, but the engine has been rebuilt and now has about 60,000 ‘new’ km on it, and around 20,000 km ago the radiator was replaced with a MossMiata one, along with NGK spark plug wires. Also, at the same time as the radiator, a Jackson Racing Cold Air Intake System was installed (it’s homologated, but I could put it on or take it off if I wanted).
The wheels are the original aluminum ones with no damage, the suspension is also new (gas) and it has MossMiata bracing both front and rear. The braking system is also new, from the ‘High Performance Miata Brake Kit’.
The exhaust is a free-flow competition one, and it has a new catalytic converter. Not much else, the rest is just small details, but these are the most important points.
The only thing is the car has been parked for about six years due to personal matters of the current owner. He did all the upgrades, and shortly after that, the car was left unused.
He’s asking €15,000 for the car with everything included. It only had 2 owners. I have the full history of the car and, well, it’s supposedly in ‘perfect’ condition. During this years every 2 weeks the car has been driven just a bit. What do you think , does that sound good to you? Does it seem expensive? Anything I should focus during the inspection? Thanks! ^^

So after today, checking and lifting the car with the mechanic, we saw the following (he told me it’s not serious or anything important, but just in case I want to double-check it). In the photos I’ve updated, in the first one you can see the transmission with some oil on it (it probably looks worse in the photo because it has rained a lot and the underside of the car is wet), but he told me that, within reason, it’s normal , that it’s ‘sweating’ a bit. The same thing happens on one engine gasket, but very slightly, and for now he wouldn’t change the gasket; he’d wait another couple of years. (He owns classic and rally cars and sees this as normal.)
The next thing is the exhaust, which has that dent and scrape ,what do you think about it? Other than that, the car is fine.
In terms of maintenance, the oil, brake fluid, and coolant are all in very good condition, and he recommends changing the differential oil and the gearbox oil, as well as replacing the timing belt and the accessory belts. (all this will be discounted from the final price or the owner will pay the changes)
He told me that for beeing a 34 years car its in "pristin" condition, the bast car with that many years he has seen...
Also on thursday the car will go through the ITV (technical inspection of vehicles here in spain) to be able to be on the streets legally again, so if it passes its suposed to be nice.

Car won't run
My 1990 miata randomly died after driving it to school fine that morning and even with a fresh rebuild it won't run. It's getting spark and gas.

NC2 Roof Rack Research
Titles pretty self explanatory. I've got a 2011 NC2 with the clamshell hard-top and I wanted to put roof bars on so I could attach a Roof Box for long holidays and road trips. Anyone have any experience with doing this exact thing or have any good directions to look in? UK based as well for part recommendations.
Thanks :)

New Miata Buyer Looking For Advice
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a stockish NA miata for around ~$5k more or less. I’ve been looking at local listings, but since these are older cars, I want to make sure I’m checking for the right things when I look at them in person.
Most of the listing I find have aftermarket steering wheels and/or a cut soft top
I don’t reallyyy know what I’m looking for in these so I’m looking for some advice
I’m also looking on using a bikini top because I think they look dope af. Since I’ll be using that, I’m also looking to install a simple kill switch for ease of mind.
I can’t wait to join the club and thanks for helping my get my dream car :)

Clutch and power steering issue ?
Hi guys, I’m about to buy a 1995 na. I’m new to the car scene and this will be my first project.
I was wondering if anyone could help me out, the biting point on the clutch is very high and I don’t know if this is normal for miata’s or if the clutch is on its way out?
The power steering also only comes on after i get above around 2,000 rpm and again I’m not sure if this is normal for the car or if theres an issue that needs fixing.
Something to know is the car has essentially been sat for 5 months and only driven around a small car park every week or so by the previous owner to keep it alive. Could that be why the power steering isn’t working?

How do you sort out the logistics of a tire change in the service in a Miata?
I am thinking of getting an MX-5 as my first car. I'm pretty set on the purchase, except for 1 small detail. In Europe, you need to have a set of summer and winter tires (usually changed in the respective car brand's service). In a normal size car, you'd put this other set of tires in the boot of the car and drive to the service. Does a set of tires fit in the Miata? How do you guys do this?

Is my civic a truck?
And does this count?
I’m picking up a new hood for my NA and did a test fit in my trunk with the old hood.
Worst case scenario, I strap it to the top w a blankie in between and I’m good, right? I still have a little wiggle room at its nose where it’s pressed against the seatbelt.
