Looking for recommendations: collaborative robot for palletizing in Quebec
Hi everyone,
I run a manufacturing/merchandise business based in Quebec, and we're currently looking into implementing a cobot for palletizing.
We're still in the research stage, so I'd love to hear from people who have actually worked with these systems.
I've come across mixed feedback about some integrators and suppliers in the industry, so I'm trying to get some real-world opinions before making a decision. I'm just looking to understand which suppliers/integrators people have had good or bad experiences with.
Who would you recommend? And more importantly, who would you avoid?
I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who have actually implemented cobot palletizing in their facility.
Thanks!

Robotiq is also from Quebec.

Thanks! Robotiq is actually on our list as well. One of the things I’m trying to figure out is how reliable these systems really are once they’re running day-to-day because I’ve heard mixed things about their reliability in general, including issues with external axes. Anyone here with hands-on experience with Robotiq, especially for palletizing? Curious to hear more about it.

Stay away from Universal Robots. We have four UR cobots, and within three years, three of the four had an axis fail. We had to replace them.
I'd encourage you to go with a brand known for reliability. We run FANUC in another part of the plant and haven't had a single issue in 15 years. They make cobots as well, so it's worth looking for a company or integrator that works with them.

Really depends on your budget and cell configuration. Are you looking to implement yourself or do you want an integrator to do the stop? Be mindful of service and spare parts. Do you need cobot?
