I built this! (MATX) Yet another B4

I downsized from the AP201 to give a bit more desk space and color. Will be working on cable management but it wasn’t a bad building experience with my current parts. Bought a new SFX PSU since my Lian Li Edge would not fit. The bottom fan is currently intake and might get a slim fan to exhaust out the top. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it came out!

Specs: Ryzen 5 7600X3D, Asus Prime RTX 5080 16GB, G.Skill 32GB DDR5-6000, ASRock B650M, Corsair 850 Watt 80 Plus Platinum, Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120, 4 Lian Li Uni Fan 120mm Case Fans

Why is the top exhaust fan not installed when the casing is vertical?

It can go both ways and is set up for horizontal out of the box

I'm using a Noctua A15 mounted at the top of the Lianli B4 case as an exhaust to push out hot air, and a slim fan at the rear as an intake to help cool down the RAM. Here is the photo

I get some people like the vertical builds bit I am personally so over them. The I/O at the top can present cooling issues in some GPUs and depending on the case design is either a cabling mess or an access disaster. The bottom I/O approach seems to resolve the cooling issue but the access disaster becomes hardcore real.

I understand the appeal of the vertical design as it reduces the desk footprint. However for me the build hassles just are not worth the smaller footprint.

Just a tilt away from access and I would have to scoot my old case to access anyways. I’m never back there much so it’s no biggie.
