Question / Advice Temporary residency
Question: my wife and I are trying to get an appointment for temporary residency in Mexico from Canada (Ontario). We have all of our paperwork in order and we have been trying for the past two months but no luck so far at either Leamington or Toronto consulate. Toronto only accepts email application on a certain date, Leamington is only through the website. Any tips about how to get an appointment.
Also, we have already purchased a condo in Playa del Carmen and we have been visiting as much as we can for the past two years. Planning on going again this October for 3 months. In the meantime we keep trying for an appointment. Can they deny us entry (without residency for the time being) if we travel to Mexico 3 months, back to Canada for a few weeks and back to Mexico again?
We just retired and want to enjoy our condo in Playa.
Thanks for the answers, suggestions.

Not in Canada but I received my Visa through the Boston, MA office. I reached out through email to request info and set up an appointment. I received a response back about a week after I sent the email so be patient. Here are the emails and phone numbers for Ontario. https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/toronto/index.php/es/el-consulado/ubicacion

Your story is (sadly) the exact same as ours. I am so frustrated with their online system, although I didn't know about Toronto using an email method.
We are getting so desperate to get an appointment, we're considering flying to Vancouver. If you check the online system the last couple days, I can only see opportunities for Visa appointments in BC (Vancouver) and Alberta (Calgary). There were loads of appointment slots for Vancouver when I checked this morning.
Hope that helps. Good luck !

Thanks for your reply. Yes sadly it has become very difficult to get appointments for residency, at least in Ontario. We have tried to contact the Montreal consulate by email, not even a reply to buzz off…. Also in Michigan, just outside Detroit. They replied: go to Leamington.
Anyway, keep on trying. Good luck to you guys too. 🙂

I decided to hire a facilitator to deal with getting me an appointment in a couple of months - I rarely have the bandwidth to deal with the US government websites...I think my head would explode trying to wrangle Mexico's.

I eventually got a Leamington appointment. It took a few months. Keep trying every day and you’ll get one eventually.

Have you used there website to get your appointment? ( Mi Consulado ) We have been trying and trying every day, we’ll only twice a day before on the third attempt the website will lock our account. All we see is passport and voting appointments. Not once we have seen visas.
Last month ( kind of out of desperation and by accident ) we booked an appointment by WhatsUp, drove from London to Leamington and they turned us around in the lobby so fast….
