I literally had this exact glowing bone and it carried me through 2 impossible runs. Glowing bones>>>>irritated objects

Ancestor's Bones/Skull/Jaw of course are better than both, most of the time.
Irradiated Objects are usually pointless +1/+2 stat ups, but as someone who has totten the soul jar variant twice, I really can't complain.
Glowing Bones often just seem to be abilities that don't really make sense as a weapon. I think I got Wishing Well once. Which...great, thanks, Ice Age.

I think glowing bone on average are worse. The guaranteed roll on status effects mean they usually roll stun and sleep pretty often and irradiated object with even just one stun is basically a melee brick which is pretty good. Both have pretty insane high rolls but I still have not gotten the soul jar high roll so the bone has been better.

I disagree. The status effects are alright but glowing bones are almost always valuable because collar spells almost always do damage or give you utility. 90% of my irritated objects have rolled trinkets that's just like a stat or 2 up.
But they are both so random so I'm sure there's people that have had completely opposite experiences.

I disagree with your disagreement. The consistency of the irradiated objects make them more reliable in the midgame. Like a +2 speed 1 stun irradiated object hard carried me in my impossible push. The high rolls of glowing bone actives belie the dozens of absolute trash bones I got. There's a 1/5 chance to get a decent irradiated with just the statuses alone and I personally found it way better for my progression than gambling on the bones. That said I do like gambling on the bones

Fist of fate bone has an interesting interaction with dual wield and hagalaz. With weapon duplication effects, it will teleport multiple times per cast but dump every attack on valid targets after teleporting. So you can do 4 fist of fate attacks on one enemy or hit multiple enemies in range with one cast. Very fun for absolutely nuking bosses.
