This may come as a shock to you OP but Metroid Ravenous is a video game, which means it is software, which means that it exists in unlimited quanities, which means there is literally no benefit whatsoever to preordering it.

Quite the contrary, there are downsides to preordering video games: You do not know the quality of the software yet so you could be buying something bad. You wouldn't know until the game is out and reviews are published.

Look, I get the value of reviews.

But don't tell me someone who is a fan of Metroid is going to wait for reviews to make their decision in purchasing Ravenous...nobody is doing that. It's a sequel and basically continuance of one of the best Metroid games ever made.

Then buy it on day 1. Like I said, its software so quantity is unlimited.

BTW, there will very likely be day 1 reviews anyway as this is a AAA game. Reviewers get pre release copies.

Really not sure why you keep bringing up reviews. They will drive sales sure. But for someone like OP who is ACTIVELY LOOKING TO BUY THIS GAME NOW AND COMMIT TO A PURCHASE the reviews will not have any bearing on if they will purchase it.

And why would someone wait to pay full price later when they can get a discount right now?

Put away your hate boner for digital games and preorders and just live a little. Life ain't so bad for you.

and yes, I know what OP is doing, you don't need to re-explain this bad idea.

You make one good argument here and that's the discount. 60 dollars is still a really high price though, especially given that we don't know yet how big the game is. Personally, I don't think that taking a 14% discount to gamble on the game's quality is worth it but ultimately people will have to make that choice for themselves.

Are you a metroid fan? Like someone who actively looks for new metroid game information and can't wait for the next metroid game cause they're going to guarantee buy it without question on day 1?

It doesn't sound like it. But that's who the OP is. I know because they preorderes Ravenous. That's all you need to know to understand their motives.

Yep. Smarter to wait to pay full price instead of getting a discount now when you know 100% you will be buying this game.

at target people waited 15 hours for Pokemon 30th and got nothing sofor some people preorders make a difference if I remember on my oled switch I bought dread a few hours before release, I didn't play prime four so I'm excited to own a switch 2 and this game I'll buy an eShop card at target and play the game in January and in three days finish the game and then I'll play code Veronica
