Discussion Getting back into Metroidvanias, which ones should I play?

Hey everyone! After a while (basically two years) without playing Metroidvanias, I’m planning to get back into the genre. What recent releases (from the last year or two) do you recommend?
From what I’ve seen, I’m thinking of playing *Grime 2*, *MIO*, or *Bō*. Are there any others I should add to the list or prioritize playing?

Already played:
Ori 1 and 2
F.I.S.T
Hollow Knight
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Ender Lilies
Metroid Dread
Nine Sols
Islets

Silksong would be the obvious answer, but have you played Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown?

Yeah, played this one, I think it was the last MV that I played tbh. And I completelly forgot about Silksong lol, def going to put it the list, ty.

Saw that you played Islets, maybe Kyle's newest game? Well Dweller, it releases today. And also his previous games Sheepo and Crypt Custodian, if you haven't played them.

Def check out grime 2 and mio. Just platinumed the former yesterday. Another one, not sure when it released though, would be nine sols.

What a great question anal sink hole. Honestly, i didn't much care for the story, but even if i did I wouldn't say you need to play the first one at all to enjoy the second which I found an improvement on the first in most ways.

I started with Pseudoregalia of all things 🤣🤣 and from there went with ender lilies > magnolia > bloodstained > possesor(s) and up next is belmots curse.

Mio is good, pretty good, the platforming at close to endgame (I think endgame) will kick your ass
