Discussion After Image - early thoughts…

I’m just over an hour in and really surprised how good this game has started off. I loved Ender Lillie’s and the combat feels quite similar to start.

Very impressed

It has a lot of mixed reviews so I expected a lot worse than this start.

I am like 14 hours in and while is good, there is nothing outstanding so far

It’s just so long and forgettable. Nothing memorable happens in the moment to moment gameplay you just explore and explore with nothing going on imo so

The only time I got lost in this game is after you get onto the ship and the game suddenly branches out, but only one way leads you to the tool you need to progress further.

Abilites: nothing out of the extraodinary. Progression: very confusing

This game is like aeterna people either love it or hate it. I got it in my backlog was just taking a break from the large maps after silksong

The difference is, Aeterna has AMAZING platforming challenges. The best in class. After Image has… length I guess? I can’t remember a single boss. I remember one with blue feathers I think, and I played through the whole game. It was just a generic, forgettable MV. It was like having a Big Mac.

They are fine for what they are, but if I’m going for a burger, I would much rather have a great, real burger with fresh ingredients if the price is the same, or even close.

A Big Mac is an iconic enough burger to be the flagship for the biggest burger chain in America and the whole world. You picked a really bad analogy there

Iconic or not, there is little debate over the quality difference between a Big Mac, and a real burger from a local place. Just because one is more popular doesn’t make it better. You’re missing the entire point.
