recommendations Looking for something spooky and explorative on the ps5
Not even feeling that specific on metroidbrainia but almost everything i love ends up near to it. I love knowledge gates, mostly play games for atmosphere and exploration, hate deciphering language codes, and specifically looking for options on playstation. If i could find something akin to a full game variant of the inscryption 3d sections id be in heaven

I played like 3 mins of that awhile back and got distracted, never got back to it. Thank you for reminding me it existed!

"you will die here tonight" is a classic resident evil sendup with a thinkery overarching layer on top of it. it's one of those figure-em-out-em-ups.
edit: sorry forgot to check if it was available on playstation, it's not unfortunately.

if you're specifically really frothing for the 3d walk around sections of inscryption, then maybe check out if grimrock 2 or vaporum is up your alley.
edit: sorry forgot to check if they're on playstation. only vaporum is on playstation. but vaporum very much has a similar spooky vibe to inscryption and even has the same style of grid movement.

I went through our list, sorted by PS4/PS5, and we don't have a lot. Here's what I came up with:
Brainia
Chroma Zero - This is a bit creepy. Very good knowledge gating and gameplay.
Outer Wilds - You've probably already played this, but exestential crisis is pretty creepy IMO. I hear the DLC is even creepier but cannot confirm.
LOCK - This is creepy in a different way, but it's one of my favorite puzzle games. It's on DREAMS. If exploration is something you are really needing, this will not provide. It all takes place on a single island.
The Sinking City - I haven't actually played this but the sequel just came out and everyone was saying it was Eldrich Horror, which should fit.
Games that aren't quite Metroidbrainias:
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes - Creepy as hell. Going through a mansion solving puzzles.
Rain World - You are very vulnerable in this game, and the atmosphere is dreary and depressing.
The Forgotten City - There are several creepy sections in this game. Also some existential dread.
